I end up paying $340 per pay for employee+family. Its the top tier Cigna plan offered. Typical 80/20 coverages. $20 copay for doc visits, $40 specialist, $250 ER? I can go pretty much anywhere in network with no referral. My premiums havent gone up in 6 years, although my employer continues to absorb Cignas cost increases. We also get a 15% premium discount if my wife and I fill out a health questionnaire with Cigna every year. Its pretty much BP, weight, cholesterol, and lifestyle questions. My wife gets paid $100 a month since she doesnt have her employers ins, and they give everyone $100 a month for an HSA.

My HC went up by a small margin last year just like every year. Im guessing your employer changed plans or decided to defer more of the cost onto you? No way your monthly cost more than doubled because of the ACA.

Our plan is through my wifes company. $550/month, $25 co pay for a family of 4. Im not sure what the deductible is now.

 

Its really the only way we can afford a decent plan. Health coverage is the main reason she stopped working with me and went to work for the other company.

 

As a small biz owner, comparable coverage would be astronomical.
