Religious Freedom is the conservative code phrase for discrimination. All these bills will go bye-bye when SCOTUS, reformed after Scalia is replaced, knocks them out as unconstitutional.

About nothing and everything all at once.

No Trump video will get him elected.

I wish everyone would follow our lead in AZ regarding the independent commission. (That might be the first time I've ever written that sentence.)

Cruz is a slimeball. Not sure if anyone running can really have integrity. Kasich is the closest IMO, though Colbert tore him up on his show regarding the idiocy of the GOP SCOTUS nomination argument. It seems the GOP establishment hates him because he is a smug a** who would rather lose on his principle than govern. Please abandon this theory that Obamacare can go away. It cannot, no matter who you elect. Move on and work to change it. I'd much rather see elimination of employer paid healthcare and a complete open shopping market for coverage, just like car insurance. Here's the fix. 1) SCOTUS gets a liberal replacement for Scalia. 2) Citizens United ruling gets fixed. 3) We now have a shot at my dream - an amendment prohibiting money to be used in political campaigns. All campaigns are run through debates on public TV, and ads are illegal. Now our candidates will truly represent us. When this happens, the budget will get balanced, because the lobbyists are gone. They can't bribe. I agree. You don't have to worry about Cruz - he's dead and doesn't know it yet. But right now, I don't see a way Trump isn't the nominee.

Good thing we haven't had dozens of highly publicized and/or taped wrongful deaths of minorities at the hands of racist white cops. Then I might think racism still is a problem.

The beauty of all of this is that the GOP is completely screwed. Does the GOP think they'll keep the Senate, or win the presidency, by refusing to debate the nomination of a qualified candidate like Loretta Lynch, who multiple GOP senators already have lauded for her competence? Just wait until the first black female SCOTUS nominee is stonewalled by a bunch of old white men. I'm smiling already just thinking about it. Does anyone remember a Democratic senate approving Clarence Thomas to succeed Thurgood Marshall? The GOP has poor memories. This posturing is comparable to the histrionics of a three year old screaming "it's not fair - we had an election in 2012 and lost, but we want to ignore it." Most importantly, we now have the opportunity to fix Citizens United, class action litigation, gerrymandering of districts, voting rights law infringements, and nibbles against Roe v. Wade. I am thankful beyond belief for that.

Remind me of some old posters that I may have forgotten about SPERMOFF II

So I'm Watching The Democrat Debate Tonight And.....
Greedo replied to BunnysBastatrds's topic in The Geek Club
The math doesn't work for him. He can win every state 55-45 and will still lose the nomination - essentially he started 300 in the whole with superdelegates. Super Tuesday will end him. But he's certainly overachieved. -
Fun discussion. A couple other thoughts... Thanks for clarifying. Don't forget that disastrous pick 6 on the goal line with AZ against the Steelers. I think AZ wins the game if not for this boneheaded play. For example, none of us remember YA Tittle, Johnny U, or Sammy Baugh. In days where things weren't pass happy, look at the innovations they brought. What might these guys do with today's rules? This is the key question, and is answerable without a 2nd thought. If I get to pick my QB to go win a game, I start with Montana. I don't think about it. There is no close 2nd.

The Sound of Silence original and cover....Thoughts?
Greedo replied to SUXBNME's topic in The Geek Club
I love S&G, and have seen them in concert. Disturbed is hit and miss for me, but I really dig the cover. I also think there's some value to bringing S&G to the young'uns - maybe a few will check out S&G a bit based on this cover. -
Impressively hypocritical statement.

BERN Your Enthusiasm.....hilarious Bernie Sanders video for political junkies
Greedo replied to gocolts's topic in The Geek Club
Like Tina Fey with Sarah Palin, Larry David is more Bernie Sanders than Bernie Sanders. -
No argument here that Denver's D and special teams won this game - I've watched every Super Bowl since 1979, and Peyton's performance was the worst since probably Grogan against the Bears - but the Bears D was far better than Carolina's D. The replacement argument isn't a great argument because the Pats don't have jack behind Brady - they haven't got a great replacement. Montana had Young, Manning had Luck, and I'll throw in Favre with Rodgers as well. Don't forget, too, that a neck injury meant there was uncertainly regarding if Peyton would ever play again - the Colts had to do something.

It's been a beauty contest since 1960, when Nixon won the debate, but sweated. Kasich is the only guy in this group of tools I'd consider voting for.
