In what way? I switched over 3 months ago, and have had little to no issues. Free Sunday Ticket and RedZone are nice too. I will say, I'm not looking forward to storm outages. I'm sure it's coming, but I have had just a few moments of issues with some significant storms so far.

Their OnDemand system sucks balls. Uses the Internet for some stupid reason only my POS "Genie" box can't stay connected to the wifi. And even when it does work a lot of stuff isn't available in HD-wtf?

Other things are quirky too with the DVR and such.

Just basically seems like a low-rent version of cable.

agreed....I'm not a fan of the On Demand system. It's just clunky and not user friendly to me, but I really don't use it that often. Maybe you need a new Genie. I know they give you a 90 equpment warranty

What are you talking about? Most everything we have is in HD. :dunno:

All on-demand shows are stored on a server. With cable you access it through coax, with Directv it's sort of a hybrid system called Deca, so it's dependent on your internet speed. But it should work just fine, unless you have one of the bottom tier speeds.

Now... it did USE to suck. Up until last year, the option to watch instantly wasn't there, and you had to download the whole show or movie to your DVR and couldn't start watching it until about 40-50% downloaded. But now, it's just as good as cable IMO.

My Internet is just fine. Supposedly 100mbps.

I don't think it's as good as cable at all. (The On Demand component.) Maybe you just haven't experienced how a decent On Demand system functions?

We had TimeWarner before this, but it's been close to 8yrs ago. :dunno:

I hate comcast but I must say their On Demand system is far superior. Otherwise I suppose the two are pretty comparable - DirecTV may even have slightly better picture quality.

Unfortunately we rely pretty heavily on On Demand though.

Never had Comcast... but Sux sings their praises pretty highly.

Directv has better equipment, IMO, but again, I'm only comparing it to TimeWarner. Directv's receivers are actually pretty smart. Before we got the Genie we would sometimes run into recording conflicts... the receiver would actually look for another airing of the show it didn't record and pick it up later, if possible. I'm also a fan that we get the East coast feed of all the regular cable channels, ie: USA, FX, AMC, etc.

I doubt we'd ever consider going back to cable at this point.

The only reason I have stayed with Comcast lately is becasue I can just bundle the cable and internet. Does DTV bundle internet as well now?

As fr On Demand ever since they stopped allowing fast forwarding ON DEMAND has sucked ass even on Comcast.

They offer an internet bundle but their internet kinda sucks. Which is a huge problem since you need internet for their On Demand content.

I believe you can bundle with AT&T and Verizon, but with the current merger with AT&T, I expect that Verizon will soon be going away.

Mine was "bundled" because they have a deal with AT&T.

It sucks.

When my ATT contract is up in about a month I am switching back to Comcast for internet. They do a duo bundle for home phone and internet making it not too expensive.
