Vikings4ever 496 Posted July 24, 2014 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/24/marshawn-lynch-will-be-holding-out/ The Seahawks managed to coax running back Marshawn Lynch to show up for a mandatory minicamp amid concerns he would hold out. Now, Lynch won’t be showing up for training camp.Former teammate Michael Robinson, who’s currently working for NFL Network, said on the air moments ago that Lynch said he’ll hold out.The move exposes Lynch to $30,000 per day in fines, along with (after five days) partial forfeiture of his $6 million signing bonus. Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted July 24, 2014 The seahawks would be stupid to cave. Christine michael step on up.
tanatastic 2,061 Posted July 24, 2014 What a greedy hoodrat. He already has a great deal that pays him 5mil, if I were the hawks id say thanks for the service, see ya!
DrG 94 Posted July 25, 2014 There is always 'that guy' right after a big winning season ... As a 9er fan, I don't mind seeing the turmoil in Seattle, but honestly, they've got plenty of depth at that position. Maybe he and Vernon Davis should talk to each other. kilroy69 986 Posted July 25, 2014 I hope he holds out. The man named christine could be gold.
IGotWorms 3,249 Posted July 25, 2014 Lynch wants his contract renegotiated with more money up front this season. He is starting the third year of a four-year deal that pays him $30 million. Lynch has a base salary of $5 million this season and $5.5 million in 2015, but he will count $7 million against the salary cap this year and $9 million next year. Why, exactly, is he holding out? J-Money 4 Posted July 25, 2014 Why, exactly, is he holding out? He thinks he has been the face of the franchise and wants to be a top payed player on the team and a $5 million base salary is disrespectful... Lol
Matt Mueller 146 Posted July 25, 2014 How to dominate a dynasty startup 2013 edition. Make Rice and Lynch your first 2 picks.
vrabinec 19 Posted July 25, 2014 Lynch has enough of an attitude to make this a pain for the hawks. Hopefully, it's a real disaster, because I didn't pick him in my money league. Does it make me a bad person to pray that awful things happen to my opponent's teams?
BigMilk 40 Posted July 25, 2014 The seahawks would be stupid to cave. Christine michael step on up. Yep no reason to cave with Christine waiting in the wings and the high likelihood of Lynch being phased out and the Hawks going RBBC this year. The question is how far do you bump Michael? If Lynch really holds out, this has to rocket him to round 6-7 at least, and I'd probably take him earlier. That guy with 12-15 touches a game is in RB2 territory with monster upside. Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted July 25, 2014 Someone would take him earlier than the 6th. I think there is no way in hell lynch really does hold out. Way too much money to pass up. The hawks already called his bluff once. It really is a stupid move. Hopefully he comes back early enough to keep cmikes draft price down, and then pulls a hammy once i have cmike on all my teams. dehaven123 31 Posted July 25, 2014 Why, exactly, is he holding out? pretty straight forward, now whether it works his way, we'll see he'l be what 29 nxt yr and figures this is last yr in seattle w/o being cut and coming back on a lesser deal w/ little to no signing bonus he's due a 2m roster payment if he makes the roster nxt yr, sea may balk on that, he knows it so, get a redo and little signi on chunk that essentially becomes a 1yr deal, to maximize what is likely his last yr in sea

Great post! Agree. His position is where we can free money for Wilson, etc. while letting an old man walk with young replacements coming up. So we'll see if he gets it or not? (He probably has earned a small extension if cheap enough for us and makes sense - 1st SB win) Could also be mostly a Bluff with the ability to skip out on camp/preseason work. Fumbleweed 401 Posted July 26, 2014 The other possibility here is that he simply doesn't want to endure the rigors of training camp and this is his clever way of avoiding it...
Kent 228 Posted July 26, 2014 He will cave or they give him a Jamaal type bonus. Apparently they have the room this year to do it. He will play week one.
vrabinec 19 Posted July 28, 2014 Man, I'm seeing Lynch last until the 3rd round. WTF? Talk about over-reaction.

A Lynch cut, and a no resigning of Okung pays for Wilson. At least as far as the offensive side of the ball goes. For Defense. MeBanes getting cut cancels out a LB or 2 getting paid. Seattle is actually in really good shape money wise. That's something the casual fans don't really realise yet. But as you know too Hawker. It's imperel they still keep hitting on the late draft picks as well as the UDFA's like they have been.
Matt Mueller 146 Posted July 28, 2014 Man, I'm seeing Lynch last until the 3rd round. WTF? Talk about over-reaction. You think he'll be there ready to go week 1? It's scaring me off a little. He's going to plummet in our IBL PPR league where you only have to start 1 running back.
tanatastic 2,061 Posted July 28, 2014 The other possibility here is that he simply doesn't want to endure the rigors of training camp and this is his clever way of avoiding it... this is what I was gonna say. Hes just lazy and veterans dont like camp anyway. He not bout dat action after all. Favre and others like strahan pulled the same thing with dif excuses. J-Money 4 Posted July 28, 2014 The longer he holds out the less likely I will draft him... I seem to recall most everyone sucking all year after coming back from an extended hold out, cj2k comes immediately to mind
DrG 94 Posted July 28, 2014 If it is not resolved and he reports, I don't see him playing hurt or too banged up since he'll want to be a healthy FA next year (albeit w.o. the 2m signing bonus). Either way, positive development for Michael.
Matt Mueller 146 Posted July 28, 2014 ^ Def a positive development for CM. I do wonder if he starts getting over drafted possibly. I think Seattle wouldn't ride him quite as much as Lynch. He's more explosive to me but not quite the same pounder.
