You are making me want to make a special trip to KK dammit.

You need to. They really are good. Better than the lemon glaze (and Im a lemon fan). The lemon glazed needed more lemon flavor. These blueberry glazed are perfect. Sh1t, wish they would have these year round

maybe ill check them out. i have never had a krispy kreme donut. back when they were featured in strabucks, i said no thanks because

1. starbucks

2. they were small and cakey

3. more expensive than DD

nothing beats a dunkin donuts glazed for me.

if we are talklng a legit glaze, i'd be intrigued. would love a dunkin donuts strawberry glazed... not strawberry frosted, a legit berry flavor glaze.

This is a legit blueberry glaze. Definitely not a frosting. Give them a try.

Dairy Queen close by closed up as the owner didnt want to pay to update the store to look like the newer DQ. Location would have been perfect for a KK.

Focking Taco Bell...3rd one in close enough location. Mother focker!

Closest KK is about 15 miles

same deal with a Burger King the town over from me. There is a main street with a QuickChek, McDonalds and BK was across the street and a street over is a Taco Bell. the Burger King was a dump. At some point they even did an update but that might have been a while ago. I drove by the other week and it was closed down and a Wendy's is taking it's place. Will be the 3rd Wendys I can drive to in 10 min or less. Yet we lost the only Checkers that was close by.

Hence why they have the hot light letting you know they are fresh out the oven and on the line being glazed right in front of you. Those donuts go wonderful with a glass of milk or a hot cup of black coffee

Gotta make sure its a Krispy Kreme that has the assembly line there too. The town I got mine from has two Krispy Kremes. One on each side of the town. However, only one makes the donuts. The other one receives all their donuts from them. Gotta make sure youre getting them fresh

Damn It Man!!! :shocking:

I've been on a diet, but I'll probably gain weight just thinking about them. I could easily eat 3 donuts and 2 glasses of milk then take a nice long sugar coma nap. :P

i wouldnt ever buy a donut from a supermarket. though i'll admit, ive grabbed one and snacked on it as I waslked around doing my shopping

if/when i do try a krsipy kreme (actually i have tried one, many years ago like i said when starbucks carried them... don't even know if they still do, fock starbucks) it will be from a legit store.

i have consumed a dozen DD glazed ony my own in roughly 45 minutes. granted they are light and fluffy compared to krispy kreme.

We dont have one around here. We did have one for a year or two, but it didnt do well. I went once or twice and they were pretty damn good. I think its one of those Mormon chicken sandwich places now.

They sell them at the market, but its obviously not the same experience.

The supermarket where I shop makes them fresh every morning and theyre delicious.

KK fresh off the line is hard to beat though.

Dunkin is a joke. I think they even bring them in frozen now.

One of the things I agree with you on. You cant beat a Krispy Kreme donut fresh off the line. Dunkin Donuts just taste stale even when they are fresh.

im not going to argue with the "quality" of a dunkin donut versus a bakery or even a krispy kreme. No, they don't bring them in frozen... at least not the ones I go to (I know 2 owners). Still, nothing beats a glazed dunkin donut. Its the only kind I buy (though i'll eat an old fashioned or jelly if someone else bought a box). Even a day old glazed is great to me. We used to buy a box when I was a kid making the drive from NJ up to Canada for fishing trips and a day or two later i'd grab that last donut from the box... still good

maybe its that lesser quality but guilty pleasure type thing like when I loved a good deep dish pizza hut.

Then again, as I said before, Dunkin's glazed donuts are just completely different. Unless Krispy Kreme has vastly changed, they are more like an entenmanns which I find to be trash. If I want a heavy, cakey donut, I'll eat cake.

Im really curious WW what Krispy Kreme you went to where the donut was heavy and cakey. Every time Ive gone and gotten a donut from KK they were extremely light and felt like you barely ate anything. Right off the line, they would go down so easy and you could eat about 3-4 before you knew it. Most KK I went to when the hot light was on would even give you a a free donut right off the line to have before you even ordered. Give them a try (especially when the hot light is on) and see what you think.

Crap. Now I'm starving for KK. Agree that hot off the assembly line is hard to beat. Damn, now I have a semi as well.

When I was a kid Id microwave those little entemenn powder sugar donuts. If you did it too long they got hard, but if you got the time right they were great.

Dunkin Donuts jelly munchkins ftw

Dang, I remember Entenmanns (sp?). My mom used to get a blueberry cheese danish that was awesome.

Odd note- Vince Gill swears by KK.

When hes on stage with his wife, hes always asking if they can hit the KK on the way home from the gig. the hot light is on!

Agreed, Dunkin is barely 1 tier above 711 donuts. I was in Miami last month and had to stop and get donuts, super disappointing. An average Asian donut place or fresh KK off the rack is on another level.

i think i mentioned 2 or 3 times it was way back when starbucks carried KK. so obviously they were not "fresh in the store" and my experience was that the donuts were 1. smaller and 2. heaver and more cake like than a dunkin. Entenmanns is probably overkill as a comparison.

this was also close to 10+ years ago which is why I said I would definitely try to hit up the closest krispy kreme and give them a try.

God, the horrible eating back in high school.

About 8 of us would go to cicis pizza every Friday after school at 2:30. We had to be back at like 5:30 for the football games.

We would probably each crush three or four pizzas in that span. It was ungodly.

Once we had a contest. Who could drink the most soda in 24 hours. I won with 48.

My brother and I once ate a bag of granulated sugar with spoons. Why? I have no focking idea.

Im sure KK makes a cake donut of some type, but thats not what were talking about here.

A fresh KK glazed literally melts in your mouth. DD isnt even in the same league. Check em out.

Also, our Cub Scout pack used to sell KKs by the box door to door on Sunday mornings. It was the greatest fundraiser ever.

The doughnuts don't stand a chance against Krispy Kreme, the employee said. "Have you ever tried Donut King or Krispy Kreme? Those places have steaming, fresh, high-quality donuts. They're amazing. The Dunkin' Donuts variety are significantly less appealing," he explained. Adding, "Hell, the ones in my store came shipped frozen only to be baked later. That's not quality

KK is only good fresh. I just had one this morning that was about 4 days old and it was junk. Dunkin's is overrated for sure as it is a filmy glaze but I like the cake donuts from small bakeries around New England. Potato donuts? No. Crap.

Your avatar is Toronto Blue Jays. How does Tim Horton stack up to the American donut companies?

Yes, there is a huge difference with the KK they sell packaged in stores and fresh from a KK shop. Either get it fresh or just go to a regular Asian yum yum or happy donut place and get those fresh. Damn I really want donuts now.

I live in NH. Toronto Fan only from the AA affiliate in the state. Never been to a Tim Horton.

Correct. The pre packaged KKs should be classified as a completely different food than the ones coming fresh off the line.
