Recommended Posts

It's ok...I'm sure a good guy with a gun will show up once he's done shooting to "stop" it.

And he did. :pointstosky:

March 20 (Reuters) - A student shot and critically wounded two fellow students at a Maryland high school before a campus security officer ended the attack by wounding the shooter, a law enforcement official said.

So now that brings the percentage up to 0.0100001% of schools has had shootings?

Can we start calling some of these shootings 'copycat' due to the extensive news coverage? :dunno:

And he did. :pointstosky:

:nono: Doesn't count. The guy was a security guard and probably a former Boy Scout or Hall Monitor. He's obviously had super duper bad ass firearms training that totally prepared him for just such an event.

I wonder what happened in cyclones childhood that made him terrified of guns.

He lost his BB gun in a tornado when he was 5. :(

Not exactly.

The shooter exchanged fire with a school resource officer, a trained, armed deputy sheriff, Cameron said. The shooter was wounded; the officer was not.

I believe that this issue comes down to 3 choices.....

#1 = Better Security ( Armed Guards, etc. )

#2 = Status Quo

#3 = End Public Schooling

Situation was deescalated by an SRO, school resource officer with a gun who had a firefight with the shooter. This is a win for the pro gun side. There may just be some merit to having an officer like this around.

He was a trained deputy sheriff. I have advocated the whole time that any armed presence at a school should be someone like that. I have only said the armed defenders shouldnt be teachers or common civilians. But nice theatrics, you almost had your gotcha moment.

Yep a highly trained officer showed up. Surprise surprise. Man I thought Joe Blow with his concealed carry was going to do it. Once again nope.

Not scared of guns I just don't need one. I can't fathom the level of paranoia some of you must have that you can't even go outside of your house without going strapped. Ironic that you call me the one scared though.

Shooter was a student yes.

Not a random maniac who saw the gun free zone sign and decided this would be a safe place to go on a rampage? :dunno:

Another school shooting is a win for the pro gun side?

Not sure anyone on a side of wanting gun control is against SRO's.

Yes sho... Anytime that our ridiculous gun culture is combated by more guns they somehow view that is a win.

They are not truly happy unless we are all wearing sidearms like the wild west or every public place we go is like airport security.

What else are you going to combat it with?

But you want guns taken away. So that means SROs, Secret service, etc. So...hmmm....how was the SRO gonna shoot the guy without a gun? Poses a problem, huh.

Must have me confused with someone else. I dont want them taken away from law enforcement or military at all. In fact I want them to have more guns and be even better armed. Have always advocated those types to be armed to the teeth.

I want guns taken away from Johnny Dipstick and Larry Jabroni, civilians who think they are Dirty Harry.

Probably not a good idea to let the .001% dictate the order of things.

You truly are ignorant. What do you think happens when Sheep and Wolves sit down to decide what's for dinner?

No sheepdogs, no sheep.

This. Aside from the downsides of expense and resigning ourselves to living in a police state, I don’t think most people object to having armed officers in schools.

No! We don't need guns. They're evil.

Silly. The whole "if we let them restrict guns in any way, they will take them all away" argument is just silly.
