Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted December 8, 2016 I think if NFL GMs attribute the Cowboys success to Elliot, then they are even dumber than I could have imagined. How is drafting a stud running back early working out for the Rams? I would hope that GMs realize the success of the Cowboys is because of something that has been obvious since the beginning of time imo, a great offensive line. Good linemen should get a boost in the draft, not the least important position in real football, the running back.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted December 8, 2016 You build inside-out. Strong offensive and defensive line makes EVERYBODY better.
weepaws 2,451 Posted December 8, 2016 There no question that the Zeke will get the credit from the NFL Gms . It's always been that way. I agree that the Oline needs to receive a higher amount of credit. But it's not going to happen. It will be the Zeke and the Dak receiving the credit. So they are dumber than you can imagine. jimaveli 119 Posted December 9, 2016 The public/average bro is on the star skill position players. But it seems pretty clear that football folks know this Dallas oline is good. Run DMC got 1000 behind this line so I think most football folks can get that AND realize that Zeke has the skills to pay it off in a bigger way than DMC did. Zeke is making 'win a game' plays with the line while DMC was 'winning a few fantasy games'. Sometimes, it can be both, but hey. Now it is sad but true that some of these teams have GMs who aren't good football folks, but that might be another convo!
bandrus1 413 Posted December 9, 2016 As said above the sports center highlight reel watcher will but people who really follow and know football know that O line is stunning
Oriole8159 86 Posted December 9, 2016 They have to win a championship to validate it, because all those top choices on offense have a lot to do with why their defense is so bad, and the last few Super Bowls have shown that a strong defense will still trump a strong offense. thegame 8 Posted December 10, 2016 Murray, DMC, Morris would gain 1,200 or more behind that line. But Elliot does look special. I hate Phallus but I give them credit. That offensive is going to be a JUGGERNAUGHT for years.
kwolf68 13 Posted December 10, 2016 Since the beginning of time football has always been a game won in the trenches.

jgcrawfish 232 Posted December 10, 2016 Looks a lot like the Aikman and Smith days in Texas. If Barry Sanders had the line Smith had to run behind he wouldn't have retired early and would have RB yardage totals that would NEVER be touched. Half the negative plays he has would be positive runs, and the positive runs he had would be even bigger. I have lots of respect for Smith, but he's a product of a phenomenal offense, in particular that line. Zeke has more natural talent than Smith, in my opinion. R8RMick 242 Posted December 10, 2016 The MVP of the Cowboys is Travis Frederick.
weepaws 2,451 Posted December 10, 2016 I don't know for sure if Sanders wouldn't have still retired early. But he would have had more yards when he did retired. I don't disagree with your statement it's a good one. My point is more about the team winning football games, then about ff production. But thanks for the reply. IMMensaMind 459 Posted December 11, 2016 This is why I've not been as much a fan of Ted Thompson as other fellow Packers fans have been. I do not think he excels in drafting O and D line players, and I think that's the largest key to creating a contender.
