Another Cowboy Suspended

Recommended Posts

that's pretty obvious. never very good to begin with, DAL has lost a lot of talent on the defensive side of the football (ware, hatcher, season without lee, season without scandrick, crawford badly hurlt last season, carr and claiborne underperforming, wilcox never learning). out of desperation, DAL had to go bargain shopping for impact defenders. the best bargains were guys with issues.

the team added 4 guys with issues over the last 2 seasons. every one of them broke bad (hardy's bad attitude, plus the 3 suspensions). this suggests that DAL's support system for substance abuse is questionable. another possibility is that by tolerating hardy and mcclain's attitude problems, DAL enabled those guys to set a bad example for lawrence and gregory.

i'm seriously annoyed with jones over the mcclain deal. belichick would have cut him on the spot, regardless of cap consequences. there comes a point where you have to forget about the money if it jeopardizes your entire investment. by keeping him around (and by ever signing hardy to begin with), jones undermines garrett's RKG emphasis.

I told you and everyone else McClain was a bad idea, last year... As far as the defense - it's not a matter of desperation reaches, it's a matter of thinking we can "get by" with half ass players.. Ware, Hatcher and the rest were actually good, sound moves not to resign them. The problem has been, as always, is that we don't have a damn clue what we're doing in the draft. We think we're so clever and deep that we can afford to waste 2nd Round picks on the likes of Escobar and his kind. That's the problem. One of these days the Jones Clowns will figure out your win SBs in today's game with Defense 1st, then elite qb play. Getting offensive back up tight ends and guys who might play in a year or two is the path to mediocrity.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/04/29/report-randy-gregory-failed-another-drug-test-nfl-future-in-doubt/

Gregory is currently serving a suspension of at least one year, and in order to be reinstated he will need to demonstrate that he has taken steps toward treatment for his drug problem. However, TMZ now reports that Gregory failed another drug test and then blew off the NFL officials who attempted to contact him in connection with his status in the league’s drug program.

Another failed drug test makes it a near certainty that Gregory won’t be reinstated at the end of his current year-long ban. And if he won’t participate in the league’s drug treatment program, he’ll never be reinstated.

According to TMZ, Gregory has now failed at least seven drug tests and people close to him are concerned about his well-being and don’t know if he’ll ever return to football.

Meh, no real loss.. He was never on the field long enuff to even be missed, it's like he never existed.. Shame though - he could have changed the fortunes and lot of his family forever if he wanted to - he chose weed.. Yes, in this day and age - it's a stupid rule.. But it is what it is, and he made his choice... Time to move on.

agreed. it was a known risk, against a possibly dominant skillset. i'm disappointed, but i'm not angry at the FO or anything. sometimes you have to swing for the fences, and when that happens you're more likely to strike out.
