Brett Hundley

For everyone that lost Rogers and Winston, this guy could have high upside.

From my very brief research, he had all the talents when drafted 2 years ago, but lack anticipation and some QB instincts. If we know anything about Packers, it is that they produce awesome QBs (at least when they still play in GreenBay). He had good off and pre season this year, and the coaching staff seems to really like him also.

I plan to pick him up for free, if you need someone with upside, I would look into picking him up. Next week against NO, he could give you Matt Flyn stats and would be too late.

I think you may be underestimating how hot a WW add he will be this week.

FF friendly skill set, check

Solid to strong supporting cast on the offense around him, check

Need to score points weekly due to average defense, check

Some will want to play keep away from the Arod owner as much as considering him a playable asset.

The 3 Ints and 6 FF points really help lower his WW appears for the average leagues.

For the super competitive leagues, yea, that's a different story.

But he also carries the risk of being benched or replaced because of ineffective play. For that reason alone I prefer Beathard because it seems they're giving him the keys for the rest of the season, win or lose.

Oh wow, super impress with Hundley on all the stuff I can find. I hope I can pick him up everywhere, I can't even imagine how 2 years under Packers improved his game.

I always liked Hundley, however while I'll admit I did not see the game yesterday that stat line at least is not good, especially considering his weapons. It ain't Chicago. - And I'd advise looking at what the Saints defense has done the last 3 weeks.

I'd totally call you on this one but I do kinda like Beathard as a play as well.

Still, if you need to be assured of a starter for the rest of the year, that's one thing, if you are hoping for a player who can be a difference maker in your lineup gotta go Hundley.

SF starting QB plays in a division with AZ,SEA,LA games pending

Hundley just got one of his tough games out of the way.

Min D on the road in a week with no preparation with the rest of the starters and a game where the Pack couldn't run the ball well.

As he assimilates I'd expect a whole different ball game. I'm not saying a future benching couldn't happen, but I think he gets a pretty long leash.

There are little to no snaps for a backup QB during the season so its gonna take awhile to effectively implement 1 new QB let alone get his backup's timing down with the starters, they gotta give him some runway.

For whom? Who's the backup to Hundley who would challenge him?

We just have to wait and see if the packers attempt a trade this week. Also, Tony Romo is out there.... ☺

In my 2 QB league my QB situation has been a train wreck all year. I started Kevin Hogan last week. I am definitely willing to roll the dice on Hundley.

I don't see them making a trade. They will go with Hundley. The hope is that he will be the heir apparent to Rodgers.

Im in a start 2 QB keeper league and I have the #1 waiver. Theres not one single starting qb available, until this passed weekend, obviously. Im definitely using my waiver, im just not sure on who. Leaning Beathard as well, with it being a keeper, but Hundley is interesting as well.

The packers WILL NOT be trading or signing a QB.....hundley is absolutely capable of running this offense. He's been sitting on the sidelines learning from the best for three years now.....he has the accuracy, arm strength , and mobility to excel in this offense....forget about what happened in yesterday's game...there isn't a QB on earth that could've come into that environment and succeeded....Rodgers wouldve had a tough time against that defense yesterday especially after losing all the oline again.......give this guy a week of preparation, open up the play book and you'll see a different QB against the saints.

Odd seeing the Romo remarks across the internet. He’s retired and not coming back and his back can’t hold up to nfl games anymore. Kaep is also done after this legal flap he’s causing. QB is not like RB, it’s hard to just bring a guy in and have him play. Bradford did an incredible job of it last year but mid season is tough. Plus it’s all moot as they like Hundley, he wouldn’t be the backup if they didn’t intend on him starting if Rodgers got hurt.

Well, he did break most all the UCLA QB records.....including Aikmans.

Lost Rodgers and Winston yesterday. Brissett, mariota, roethlisberger, and hundley are available. Don't think I'm going to use the #1 waiver on a qb this week. Ill be playing the matchup, may try to trade for cam

Hundley doesnt have a plus matchup until week 13 against the Bucs. Unless youre absolutely desperate theres no way Id consider picking him up let alone using a waiver on him.

Hundley had good stats at UCLA and does have the added dimension of running ability. He led UCLA in rushing touchdowns with 10 in his final season. Very good size for the position. I'd say his weakest attribute is probably reading defenses and accuracy. That was what I remember from him coming out of college and I thought he landed in the perfect landing spot in GB. There are some similarities to Deshaun Watson here. No I'm not saying he'll be anywhere as good but I'd be thrilled if he is.

The offensive weapons are still in play with a great WR group and solid RB duo. He's had three years in this offense and learning behind the great Rodgers. Rodgers had three years behind the great Favre. Maybe he could be a very sneaky add after waivers clear. I wouldn't look too much into this weekend's stats. He got thrown into an extremely tough situation against a great defense. As a Rodgers owner who was carrying no backup, I'm hoping to get Dalton as my future starter and Hundley as a flier. On his TD pass thrown to Adams he started to look like he was going to rush which completely fooled the Minny LBs and drew them in leaving Adams open for the pass. He does possess that threat which is an added bonus. If McCarthy gets creative with the playcalling and suits it to his strengths there could definitely be some value here. I'm also quite desperate for a fantasy QB right now so I could just be trying to talk myself into Hundley.

He definitely will get the keys to the Cadillac now. But a few more bad games coupled with more Ls and it's almost a certainty he will be riding the pine. Packers want to win now.

Beathard has a longer leash. There's no argument there. I'm not saying who's more talented. That I leave up for debate.

Really no idea why you guys would prefer a rookie QB from 49ers than a 3 years Aaron Rogers under study in Packers. With worse everything measurable.

See Lesjroza, I told you that for average leagues, most people will disregard him because of this 6 points FF. All they see is his 3 INTs, while ignoring he was facing top def with 2 starting linemen knocked out during the game. 1 int was tip and 1 int was last play of the game on a hit/hailmary play.

Are the 2 linemen coming back next week?

Joe Callahan. He's a practice squad guy - just got pulled up to the starting roster as Hundley's backup - but hugely impressed in pre-season, to the point that there was an open debate both within the Packers organization and fandom regarding which of he or Hundley should back up Rodgers.

He's good.

Packers fan take on Hundley.

Very smart. I think he's going to impress;he can make all the throws and is very mobile. Think of him as an accurate Tyrod Taylor, with talent to throw to. Not as deft in the pocket as Rodgers, but nearly no one is. Tends to panic a bit when pressured, but this may dissipate with game experience, or it may magnify (that's the part we'll see).

He's had no 1st team reps this year so far; being thrown into a MIN game @ MIN isn't a fair assessment of his potential; I can excuse the INTs which resulted.

If I were managing a Rodgers-less FF right now, I would trade any QB ranked 11 or lower for Hundley right now. I think you can roll with him and expect better than average numbers out of him, partly because of his ability, and partly because of the offensive potential of GB, combined with a D willing to give up scores.

No offense to Mr. Callahan, but Saints dropped him after a week. Then even Browns waived him this year.

Erm...I wouldn't use the Browns as any credible judge of QB talent.

Packer fans-don't you think Pack will go to maybe 3 step drops for Hundley to alleviate the rush (and hurt o-line) so he can get rid of it quicker? If so I would think Bennett and Adams would benefit IF they do this.......one way to take care of your QB.

He had it at UCLA. He's also a vet who has studied under one of the best of all time.

Dude could be setting himself up for Flynn money. I'm taking a flyer.

Same here, because of bye (Watson) it's either Hundley or Carr. And Carr has really sucked lately-hurt and playing bad aren't a good combination. Guess I'm gonna throw Hundley in there and hope they put him in shotgun and throw slants-the line is beyond injured.

2 years studying under rodgers** this is his 3rd season

And in my opinion the 1 INT that was tipped was certainly a bad throw.

FWIW

Are they too hurt to just hold all the time like usual?

I'm gonna give him a shot this weekend with Watson on a bye.

I figure his rushing ability and potential for garbage time points will keep him usable this week if nothing else.

I'm an Aaron jones owner and they are saying he might take the reins of the backfield as he has out played TyMont last week and they wanted to get Huntley acclimated a bit by relying on the run a bit more. Wondering how it plays out this week and ROS

Luck had a setback and can't practice. Don't know if you heard. In anycase, might be time to find another "QB insurance" policy.
