Just landed in SD for Social Media Marketing World 2017, won't have much time to do anything during the day but what are some good local spots to get some dinner?

Are you at the convention center? If so there are a bunch of good restaurants in the Gaslamp district.

What kind of food do you want? I just got back from taco Tuesday. Downtown check out a Mexican place called La Puerta for some great drinks and Mexican food.

Your a chief aren't you? I'll take your word for it. I'll try the place tanatastic recommend tomorrow, and probably go to Indigo another day. I went to Old Town last year (really cool place) great food.

I'm not an expert but last week I stayed down there at the Ramada Inn which was the former St. James Hotel; built in 1913 I think and hasn't been upgraded since. Seriously, it had a lot of Deco "charm" but the room was tiny and the place had a Shining vibe (second time I said that tonight!). The exercise room was the size of a closet and had a bike and a treadmill.

I ate at a place called Osteria Panevino on 5th Ave between F and G. I chose it after walking around a while because it had a 4.5 rating on Google and I could sit and eat at the bar. I had Veal Osso Bucco which was OK, not great. I mean it was really good as such a dish is, but it didn't stand out, for the money it cost. So I would try somewhere else. Seemed like a lot of steak and seafood places, but maybe I tuned out the Mexican places because I have those in Phoenix. :dunno:

I'm actually heading back to SD tomorrow but staying in Del Mar near our office.

Other reccomendations for dif kinds of food nearby where you are roughly and surrounding neighborhoods.

Vietnamese- Have to go to Pho on 5th in hillcrest. Best Vietnamese hands down.

Indian- Urban India downtown.

Pizza- Buona Forcheta in south park, Napolitano crust, amazing. This is authentic style. If you want an alternative, Pizzeria Luigi is a great choice, in north park.

Beach- Belmont park in ocean beach. The place with the roller coaster and Boardwalk. Go to the sandbar, get a Long Island. Best LI Iv had for some reason.

Burger- you'll prob just go to in n out or five guys and that's fine.

Mexican- old town Mexican cafe in old town.

Strip clubs- Eh not the best choices compared to TJ which has AMAZING strip clubs. But if you aren't going to Mexico just go to cheetahs and have a drink next door at the bullpen.

Ha just edited my post above to talk about strip clubs. But yes if you can go to Mexico, go there for strip clubs. Highly reccomend Hong Kong club. If mexico is too shady, Cheetahs is fine in Kearny Mesa,

In went to Tijuana, but it was a bunch of guys we weren't too worried. Had a blast. Was a while ago for a Giants game. They hated Eli.

Nothing beats fish tacos at the brigantine for me in del mar. I remember seeing Jr Seau and Matt Ryan there once.

The Brig is great time, great food and atmosphere, if you get up to Del Mar.

Another great spot is Poseidon's down the street sit right on the sand

Downtown, stop in at Florent, or Whiskey Girl, or Bootleggers, they are my friends restaurants

When I was there I went to the American Comedy Club in downtown SD, it was a good time, if you are into that you might want to check it out.
