JTB is rushing it, claiming a noon deadline or something. If it's a strategic move in hopes of getting in before Nuts gains any traction, I appreciate it. But if he is actually unwilling to sell himself a little, and is the type to demand an answer in just a couple hours or he is bailing, then I don't think he is cut out for our system here. The second mistake was not having a plan B. At your deadline time, you should have extended the deadline to approve you by 90 minutes. Haven't you seen ransom movies and how it works?

 

Your third and final mistake was panicking and shooting yourself in the head at deadline time. That never works.
