it is highly unusual, but if you really look at the strategy its brilliant. Portray yourself as an AA woman and the world is your oyster. Isn't the real question here whether or not she was effective in her role? Did she bring value to her organization? To others?

 

Maybe she needs to be held accountable for lying and the NAACP needs to take appropriate actions, but if she did her job and did it well then kudos to her for taking advantage of the bias of others and making it work, and hopefully making a difference for the better.

I don't know if that is what happened here or not. it may very well be that her parents sucked, or maybe she simply commiserated with the plight of AA's more so. She seems to have really wanted to be involved and make change for the better, but she also really seems to have a need to feel aligned with a historically oppressed group. I think there are some issues at play for her, but she at least seemed to look for ways to channel herself in a positive way.
