Browns homer here. I doubt it. He didn't make the 53 man roster and cleared waivers to be put on practice squad, meaning NO other team in the league was interested at all.

 

Though, I have my doubts about the Browns front office and for good reason. They've yet to prove they can evaluate talent. To date, all they've done is covet draft picks and cheaper, younger players.

Kinda looks like Higgins is also the only target. Britt is in the doghouse. Coleman out for a long time. Crowell sucks. Higgins might as well be Antonio Brown for Cleveland. Lol.

I tried for Higgins but got beat out in bidding by a small percentage. I remember this kid when he came out. Small school, extremely productive and was hyped before the combine where he was very blah. I think he's got a chance to be a productive possession receiver this year and he gets an opportunity to likely start from here out. I've always liked picking the trash heap for scraps, and this is one I wish I would've grabbed for sooner. You have a team that's going to be playing from behind, playing a rookie QB with an active arm. I think there's a little value there based on that opportunity. I'll stress that I'm playing deep league's with big rosters. You guys playing 8 teamers can just keep moving. Our waiver wire is a focking dry patch of parched earth.

 

I did get him in my dynasty though.

Im in the same boat. Our WW consists of nothing. I ended up picking up Higgins this morning and I am happy with it. He is not a starter for me right now as I have OBJ, Jeffery and Allen. But hell you can never have too many productive players and he generated a lot of targets last week.

I think Higgins is a good add for the potential that he is a target monster.

 

I mean Pryor wasn't even a wide receiver until last year and look at the stats he put up on the same team. They're bad and will be playing from behind a lot versus prevent defenses. Good chance Higgins just eats up those little 5-8 yard routes in garbage time.

 

Kearse is in a similar situation. I think he's probably the better add in standard leagues whereas Higgins could have a substantial edge in PPR.

 

Maybe both amount to nothing. Oh well, you didn't have to give up much (if anything) for them.

Great info on Higgins, thanks. I managed to get both of these guys off waivers too--I'm now sitting at 11th of 12 in priority, so I'm hoping one of them at least turns out useful.

 

I don't so much care about combine performance anymore. You can be the freakiest athlete in the world and it won't help you if you can't run a good route or wait for an opening in the line to develop (looking at you, McKinnon). Brains and attitude seem to correlate well with NFL production.

I am just curious and would like to ask everybody's opinion. I just got kearse through my waiver wire today but was thinking of adding Higgins as well. Do you think having them both in your starting lineup would be a plus. I play in a PPR League just to give everyone a heads up. And my receivers so far are Larry Fitzgerald and Demaryius Thomas along with Cooper kupp and Pierre Garcon. Thinking of sitting Garcon for kearse and Higgins would play instead of kupp. Any advice is appreciated.

I think you might be overrating Ebron, and I'm the guy that's trying to trade for him. He's never really been a consistent performer, has missed multiple games every season, is coming off of an offseason injury that could leave him susceptible to future missed games this year. You have to factor that into your analysis, especially considering I'm only trading for him for depth purposes.

 

It's a 10 team league though, so he's not even an every week starter. Plus, we still have Engram, Clay, Miller, Watson still as free agents, who Ebron is just barely better than in my opinion. I could just pickup any one of them instead, so not worth overpaying. And in turn, the guy who owns Ebron has WRs that are worse than Kearse/Higgins (or at least what they could be), so they have value to him above just the zero I paid for them.

 

Kearse and Higgins have just as much upside than Ebron does, even considering the fact that they were just picked up this morning.

In a vacuum I agree with that, but he has to show that first before that potential can be factored into his trade value.

Until he shows that, he's fairly priced at slightly above replacement level players, especially in a 10 team league.

Higgins put up numbers at the Ravens. That's something to seriously consider. The Ravens D is top 3 and perhaps the best against the pass.

FWIW, PFF really liked Higgins coming out of college. I don't have the article in front of me, but iirc he was their 15th ranked WR in that draft. I'll try to look that back up.
