Our small town of 80k has seen its fair share of violent crime increase over the last decade or so. Apparently there is some speculation that this dude was detained in Chicago and later released rather than deported as a sanctuary city. Also belief that he could have ties to MS-13. A sad tragedy that two little kids no longer have a mom, and a possibility that this could turn into a national story for those advocating for immigration reform. From what I've read an effective wall from border to border is ridiculously impracticable, but I'd be happy with just a few miles of concrete in front of Mexican desert.
