Top 10 players for a Playoff League...make your early predictions!

Recommended Posts

For my fellow Fantasy Football Junkies that are joining playoff leagues, wondering what your early playoff ranking are? Most of the playoff leagues I have played in previously had 2 QB's, 2 RB's, 4 WR"s, 2 TE's, 2 K's, and 2 D's.

Teams In: Raiders, Texans, Lions, Seahawks, Dolphins, Steeler, Giants, Pack, Falcons, Pats, Chiefs, and Cowboys

I have the top 10 players ranked:

1. Brady - QB

2. Rodgers - QB

3. Roethislberger - QB

4. Ryan - QB

5. A. Brown - WR

6. Bell - RB

7. J. Jones - WR

8. Elliot - RB

9. OBJ - WR

10. Nelson - WR

Obviously QB's are the most important in this kind of format. What's your strategy? Early list, how would you rank the top 10 players?

Apologies but I've never played in a playoff league, so I don't really have any rankings going now.

I'm curious as to how it works, though. How many players (at the six positions you have listed above) are starters in a given match?

Also...how would you rank the available TEs? (not to mention omigods the kickers) :)

Big Ben & Bell I would take from the wilcard teams. Steelers could be dangerous in the playoffs & could go deep in the playoffs with accumulating points thru at least 3 games & MAYBE if they get hot. I'd take a chance with them on my team. Mores games & chance to rack up numbers to your playoff team.

Strategy for playoff drafts is team over players. Who do you think will get 4 games in? 3 games in?

Teams I like based on potential are NE, Pittsburgh, NYG, and Atlanta. I'm looking for players on those teams.

Not sure I like your Rodgers pick. Could just as well be Eli. NYG a much more complete team than GB right now.

Off the top of my head.....

1. Brady - QB

2. Manning - QB

3. Roethislberger - QB

4. Ryan - QB

5. A. Brown - WR

6. Bell - RB

7. J. Jones - WR

8. Freeman - RB

9. OBJ - WR

10-A. Blount - RB

10-B. Edelman - WR

I'd put Brady, Brown, and Bell #1, #2, and #3. After that, not so sure. I don't think I can confidently say any other team is definitely playing more than 1 game.

We are only allowed only one player from each team to fill 1-QB, 2-RB, 2-WR, 1-TE, 1-K, 1-DEF and 1-Flex which can come from any team already picked from or not.

First and foremost, you're going to need players that play in at least two games.

A guy like Jay Ajayi looks good on paper against the Steelers, but even if runs for another 200 on them, it's likely he doesn't outscore a guy like Blount, Zeke or Le'Veon who (likely) play two games.

At QB, I look at the potential matchups in the 2nd round.

Brady gets the Texans/Raiders/Dolphins as his first opponent. Ummm....yes and please.

I like Matt Ryan too. Seattle (whom I feel will win) on the road isn't as stout of a defense as they appear.

Defense...I'd take the Giants. I think they go into GB and win. If that's the case, they're likely heading for the 3rd showdown with Dallas. They've bottled up Dez and Dak pretty well this season. Think you can give good consideration to New England and KC (especially if return TDs are counted)

I think Seattle is very beatable this year. Probably not by Detroit but no faith in them headed east.

Giants look like the most complete team in the NFC to me. Running, passing, and defense. Aaron Rodgers can beat almost any team single handedly if he gets hot enough but I'd bet on NY.

NE is a sure thing in the AFC......at least to make it to the championship game, and they don't need to travel.

Same except we get two flex. I went Brady, Bell, Murray, OBJ, Nelson, Freeman, Elliot, Kelce, Prater, SEA.

Like Murray the least. I don't have a MIA or HOU player on my roster because I think they will be one and done (always go for the teams who are going the distance). May sub Ajayi for Murray but he is injured.

Twelve teams in the playoffs, four teams get eliminated by Sunday night. In this format you want eight players still relevant for the following week, not six.

Rogers is on fire. He's my #1....LeVeon DUH...and I have a feeling Lamar Miller could be good.
