20 19 Erik COMPTON 2,458.793

Would be an absolute embarrassment for Watson to pick Tiger and Phil, fock them. Leave them at home. Anyone know what Jeff Gilooly is doing? Have him pay Furyk a visit. I'm tired of his act and choking during the Ryder Cup, he can't handle it.

It has always made me like WTF when most of the so called "great" scottish courses would be under a 100 bucks to play if they were here in the US. I played ST Andrews and 3 other courses in Scotland with my old man a little bit ago and to be honest while I appreciated the history and the greens were some of the toughest I have played none of them were much to look at (we both pn the plane came back saying - while it was good to say we played ST Andrews once we would both of been off just going to the Peeble resorts again)... MUCH better courses IMO in Ireland than Scotland.

I think they were trying to put up turbines and he said he'll close the course down if they do.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Brendon Todd played well enough to get an auto berth between now and mid-August. That would make the US choices even tougher.

And, I hope for our sake that Luke Donald makes the European team. He hasn't played well in quite a while.

Nor has Poulter, you know he'll be a captain's pick

The US has an incredibly strong team. Phil is pretty much an automatic Captain's pick if he does not play his way on. If Tiger gets a win between now and then, I would think that Watson would add him for his leadership.

they did last time as well. Typical of the players playing on Sunday, gagged away the victory.

You see those golf courses and you see landfills and wasteland. I scan over them and I see Alan Robertson, Old Tom Morris, and Young Tom Morris hitting the ball to the same greens and pins they are today. There is an amazing beauty connected to that .

We have what we always have - a strong collection of talented players. What we don't have, what we haven't had in a long time, is a team. With TW and Furyk on the squad I'd start preparing the losing speech.

Maybe I have "Good Old Day" syndrome, but it just seems the RC doesn't burn hot or mean much to the new crop of American players today. Least not like it did back during the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Back then we had the likes of L. Wadkiins, R. Floyd, J. Miller, H. Irwin, C. Strange, L. Trevino, H. Sutton - I mean these guys flat out hated to lose. They'd rather chew off a digit than lose their matches. Now it seems like nothing more than an exhibition to these guys.

Remember back in the late 90s early 2000s, they were b1tching about wanting to be paid to play in the Ryder Cup?

So you want tiger and phil left off the team.... for who exactly?

The Americans look horribly out gunned.

I'm all for leaving tiger and phil at home but I don't see anyone else that excites me, including some that are currently automatic births

I'll say I can see tiger off if he's not playing well because hes never been much of a team guy but all the younger guys seem to love phil. I doubt he'll be left off if he's in the top 12

Ryder Cup needs more Boo Weekley types.

Guys that are out there having fun, having some emotion.

I'll take Patrick Reed, Brendon Todd, Keegan Bradley, Brian Harman over Tiger and and Furyk

We lose every year, what the fock would trying new blood hurt?

It won't hurt I'm just Not seeing anyone that jumps out at me. Reed maybe but that's 1 of 3.

Todd is playing well but he's ho hum. The guy I'd live to see get back on track and play his way into consideration is Billy horschel

Ed, I think you misread my post from the british open thread. I basically was saying that if phil or tiger had even above average Ryder Cup records, you take them. They way they are playing now combined with shioty ryder cup records, you don't.

From a European standpoint, you have Poulter and Donald who are both struggling, however due to their records at Ryder Cup, I make them captains picks.

D. Johnson ran the tables at the '12 RC - was 3-0-0. He's playing really well right now and I feel almost as good about him as I do anyone on our team.

So did Larry Nelson - who by the way had a career RC record of 9-3-1. Nelson is famously known as the only player to ever go 5-0 during a single RC event - did so in 1979. I don't care if the dude is a mute, if he has stones and can play - play him.

Possibly. I get the idea that he will never have the type of facial lines associated with deep thought, if you get my drift.

Not saying I don appreicate the history just saying not a single course i Scotland would be a top 100 course in the US w/o fatorign in the history, Not 1 course in Scot land is as good as any of the big 3 courses in Peeble beach ( Cypress, Peeble, Spyglass) . But hey is Pot hole bunkers , large very fast greens, and grass that loos like there's no groundskeeper is your thing go for it.
