DMC 2014

Recommended Posts

With the recent play of Jennings, I was reading that the Raiders might find McFadden expendable and let him walk when he hits the market this offseason. I know his injury history would deter some teams from pursuing him, but my question is, where can you see him ending up next year?

Part of the reason why I ask is because he was just dropped in my auction keeper league this week, and I was going to make a bid on him for cheap in the hopes that he can potentially rebound next season.

I was thinking maybe the Jets could work, Browns are also a possibility. Besides that, I can't think of many other teams that could benefit from his addition.

So you're looking for part time Running Back help for 2014? No reason to think he suddenly won't be injury prone as he ages.

Let someone else pick up that P.O.S. and laugh as you dodged a bullet (self inflicted bullet too).

Someone will work him out, be wowed by his measurables and skill set and sign him as a starter. It will happen.

Doesn't mean we as fantasy owners need to make the same mistake.

Is it time to bump the threads where people tell us DMC isn't injury prone and is a great draft pick in Round 3?

I drafted that POS this season. HUGE mistake. It isn't just his injuries, but what his past injuries have done to him. He has literally Zero explosion now. His speed is gone. I have to wonder if he is even interested in playing anymore. His rookie contract was massive and no team in their right mind is going to consider him as anything more than a change of pace back. The problem with that though is the change of pace would be SLOW. Oakland isn't going to offer him a deal, nor will Cleveland or the Jets. It doesn't make any sense for a team to sign him. He will be paid at least $650,000 more than what you have to pay a rookie because of the veterans minimum. Who is going to give this guy close to $1 million per year? Some team will, but it will be a team like Dallas who always believes they know better than the rest of the teams around the league. Who would you want for next season, a washed up, injury prone running back at a $1 million plus, or one of these late round guys (salary in parenthesis)?

Zach Stacy ($405,000)

Jonathan Franklin ($405,000)

Andre Ellington ($405,000)

For just slightly more, you could have Eddie Lacy, Marcus Lattimore.... With the rookie salary cap, there is no reason to sign a used up running back. Even Monte Ball and LaVeon Bell are making less than the Veterans Minimum this season. Any team stupid enough to sign DMC deserves to lose.

He would be a good guy to back up Foster in Houston considering Tate will have a new home next year.

This would be a perfect fit for TWO injury prone backs. I think Tate will be the most attractive running back and will be moving away from Houston. As much as GMs love to look at measurables in DMC's case I think that it is far too clear that you cannot promise him a large contract and expect him to be a #1RB.
