Kenneth Dixon out for the year

Recommended Posts

Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon suffered a meniscus tear and according to Ian Rapoport, Dixon will miss the entire season. Dixon was already going to serve a 4-game suspension to start the season.

This should solidify the roles of Terrance West and Danny Woodhead, especially since it sounds like the team is going to sign Bobby Rainey for depth.

Crap....there goes snaring Terrance West as a sneaky 4 week starter really late for those grabbing Doug Martin earlier.

Yeah that was my plan too. West will still be priced reasonably I think. but you are picking him at least a round earlier. Maybe two.

Time for them to trade for Hyde.

As steeler fan would hate that. As dynasty owner of Hyde I would love it. 49ers are so stupid

I'm not buying the storyline here just quite yet. The Ravens have not put Dixon on season ending IR yet. A meniscus injury recovers usually in 4-6 weeks.

Dixon is already suspended for the first 4 games. It would be 10 weeks before he is eligible to return.

It doesn't add up to me.

There are 2 types of meniscus injuries. I am reciting from memory so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

My understanding is that the most common form of this injury requires a 'trim' of the torn part outside of the knee and that one takes 4-6 weeks and is the most common form of the injury

another is where it is torn and is inside the knee itself. This takes a much longer recovery period and is more likely to lead to complications. It is a far more serious injury.

Like I said, I'm recalling from memory so if my details are anywhere incorrect, I invite any and all of you to correct me on this.

iirc the trim is the shorter timetable. the repair is much longer and he'll miss the season. up arrow woody

I thought of trading back in my deep PPR Keeper league to get Woodhead and add a pick. I don't think that's possible any longer.
