Anyone been to the Finger Lakes in NY State?

Recommended Posts

Today is my Friday as me and the little lady head up to Lake Seneca for a three day, 2 night stay at a cozy little bed and breakfast. The Finger Lakes region is noted for their wineries, as there are hundreds of them lined up along the lakes. Our stay includes vouchers for free tastings at 30 different wineries. Excited because booking a February excursion just north of Watkins Glen is a bit risky due to weather. Calling for 50's and sunny. B)

Anyone else ever been up that way? Anything else to do except wine tasting?

The horse track is pretty cool. Some characters in that joint. Don't think there's live racing this time of year, though. Never been to the casino part of it.

Is that on Lake Seneca? That sounds pretty cool actually. Do you know the name of the casino?

Many times. My inlaws had a farm not far from Lake Keuka. Check out Watkins Glen State Park. The waterfall hike is pretty cool.

Finger Lakes Gaming & Race Track. Probably 30 minutes or so from the lake.

I live in Rochester, so I go once and a while for a weekend getaway with my wife. I stay at Belhurst Castle. It's a hotel and they have a wine spicket that spits out free red wine for guests.

All I know is Jim Carey ran that joke in the ground during his cameo on The Office

Jim Carrey on The Office is what I would imagine plays on every TV in Hell...on a continuous loop.

I hate that I think of that whenever I hear about the Finger Lakes now.
