Hardcore troubadour 12,595 Posted March 8, 2018 NYC smartened up and had a republican mayor for 20 years. The golden age of NYC. But it's slowly going down hill. Won't be long now. MDC 5,878 Posted March 8, 2018 About 70% of all major cities have Democratic mayors, including 10 of the Top 11 biggest by population. Im thinking the mayor of LA, Chicago or Houston has bigger fish to fry than the head of say El Paso TX or Mesa AZ.

Hardcore troubadour 12,595 Posted March 9, 2018 The good, decent people leave cities once they have children. Inner city schools Are a disaster. You won't see many mass shootings in those schools though. Tough to get a rifle past the metal detector. titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted March 12, 2018 Please name a few, I named the 10 cities with the highest poverty rate which all happened to be controlled by Dems for decades. What do you have? Yes, you are talking about cities jethro. I'm talking rural areas and small towns. And please note I am not besmirching rural life or all small towns. My first job out of law school, I traveled all over Tennessee, had to go to the county seat of each of the 90 some odd counties from time to time. Spent a lot of time in tiny ass little towns, staying overnight in hotels and eating in their diners and such. Some were nice, pleasant little places. Industrious people, laid back friendly pace of life. I could totally see why people would choose that lifestyle, although its not my cup of tea. Others were sh!tholes with crime and drug problems, damn near everyone in the damn town was on some form of government aid, and anyone with any aspirations in life at all left after high school graduation and never came back. Being rural Tennessee, pretty much all of them were heavily Republican. Hell, most don't even have a Dem on the ballot most of the time. My point is some D places are nice, others are sh!tholes. Some R places are nice, others are sh!tholes. Its almost like reducing the entire world down to party affiliation is a stupid exercise only a moron would employ. On the local level, ideology doesn't come into play all that much.

Let's not act like the amount of money and resources that have been put into ghettos is even close to what has gone into rural shitholes. There aren't enough voters or customers in rural areas for anyone to care. Cities on the other hand get money hand over fist, giant infrastructure, thousands of police, fire, medical. Social Services up the whazoo, and easily accessible. Too easy. There's a school every ten feet in the ghetto. Rural shitholes are ignored.

Social Services up the whazoo, and easily accessible. Too easy. There's a school every ten feet in the ghetto. Rural shitholes are ignored. Id say none of that is true. Police per citizen is probably higher in small towns. A majority of people who receive social welfare payments are rural. They have schools just like everyone else. Tend to be sh!tty ones, because nobody wants to live there to teach, similar to the ghetto. I can show you many small towns that have housing projects just like the cities. Half the houses and trailer parks get section 8, just likes the cities. Yeah, cities are worse and get more money, both because of population density. Not to mention, most of the rich folk live in cities. Not all by any means, but most. Cities have more businesses paying taxes too. Pick a state and look county by county. I bet youll find far more often than not that based on tax revenue coming out vs. government money going in, that its the cities carrying the rural, not the other way around. Well, I have history on my side. NYC had become your typical dysfunctional, dirty, violent urban mess after decades of democratic control. A republican, Guilliani, came in and turned the place upside down and left it 100x better than he found it. Bloomberg kept the upward swing going for another 12 years. That's 20 years of republican control and the place was never better. After one term of SJW DiBlassio in charge the place is going to shite.
