sjeffblack 0 Posted June 19, 2006 I'm in a 12-team league (1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1Def) with standard scoring. It's a keeper league where each team keeps four players. The only 4 players on my team worth mentioning are: 1. Larry Johnson 2. Deuce McAllister 3. Marvin Harrison 4. Carson Palmer I also have the first pick in the draft. Since all of the stud RBs and WRs will be kept, Reggie Bush as the first pick is really a no-brainer. My question is whether or not I should try to trade my first pick or not, and if so, what would you expect to get in return? Other than Johnson, I feel like my other 3 keepers are very questionable. They could be great or they could stink (that may be an exageration). Palmer's coming off his injury, who knows how McAllister/Bush will do, and Harrison's not getting any younger (and coming off some mild surgery himself). Thanks. bdill77 0 Posted June 19, 2006 If your not happy with your team, I would try to trade the 1st pick for a young RB. You might find someone obsessed with R.Bush. I would try not to trade down to far. If you stay in the top 5 you could still get Addai or Maroney, both great long term answers at RB. If you stay at 1 and draft Bush, you will for sure have the Saints RB, but who? Probably RBBC which would hurt all year. If you take Bush I would try to trade McAllister as soon as possible.

I like all your keepers except for Deuce and he may even be serviceable next year. I'd pick Bush. I wouldn't trade that pick. I know that great prospects seem like they rarely deliver and unknown-unsung guys often do, but unless you don't watch college football I can't imagine why you would part with the chance to get such a promising RB...I think you're too worried and overanalyzing your situation.
