What do you collect?

Recommended Posts

There's gotta be something you collect. Sports memorabilia, guns, beer cans, tools, ex wives, bodies.

I think everyone's gotta have something.

What is it?

I still have all my comic books from the 70s and 80s. I do not collect them anymore but can not bring myself to get rid of them.

Megalodon Teeth but I sell a lot of them.

Everyone goin' for the funny?

I collect Star Wars Comics, Novels, and Reference Materials. My current favorite Comic Line is Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith.

Not much of a collection, but I store every foreign currency coin that I find. You could also say I collect Steam Games since I have over 400 of them on my account.

I also collect Cooperative Board Games like Eldritch Horror and Cooperative Deck-Building Games like Hogwarts Battle

I hope to have a basement full of them one day where me and the kiddos can spend hours invested in other worlds.

Ever play pandemic legacy?

My wife bought me Season 1 for my Birthday, but we haven't had a chance to play it yet. I hear it's amazing.

When I was young I collected baseball cards. This was in the 70s to early 80s before it became a business. Didn't have much of value; it was more about trying to get entire teams and if possible every card in a season (1976 was the only year I did it, I think). My son wasn't into it so I got rid of most of them; funny thing is that he is 22 now and a maniacal Diamondbacks fan. So I did something right I guess. :D

These days we collect a few things:

- When we go on major trips, we like to get a piece of art representative of the area. Looking around our common area I see paintings from Rome, Dubai, Kauai, Barcelona, and a vase from Sydney.

- On those same trips we try to get a piece of tchotchke, or ugly trinket. The weirder the better. It started in Rome about a decade ago; if you've been you know that you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a vendor cart with tourist trinkets.

- Corks from good bottles of wine; if it is for a special event we write it on the cork.

That's a pretty cool idea. My step-son's grandfather collects beer bottle caps. He has a Poolside Structure that he has been affixing them to for years with wood nails. It's basically white-trash tile backsplash.

I collect old maps. The older the better. The more specific to Michigan or Georgia the better.

Matter of fact, Im leaving for Daytona shortly. Will be going to one of the breweries there so Ill be bringing back another beer for my collection. Anytime we go somewhere on baca Ive started getting alcohol from those places. Whether it be beer from a brewery or liquor from the place they make it. Thats why I got a bottle of rum cream and Jamaican dark rum from Jamaica.

Go to the Shark Lounge and ask one of the employees if you can go into the Shark Tank. Trust me.

Nah. The Jamaican extra dark rum is delicious and so is the rum cream. Brought a bottle of rum cream back for my bother and two BILs. They loved it. But that extra dark rum was pretty expensive so I kept that for myself
