Chris Thompson - Might Be Time To Grab Him

Recommended Posts

Although he probably won't play again this week on Thanksgiving, he is getting close. Mighta been dropped in some leagues during bye weeks and forgotten. Since he'll lock as a free agent after Thursday, and news of his return may hit next week arousing interest, might be time to make the scoop.

Could be a fantastic flex down the stretch, esp with Colt or Dirty Sanchez looking for the dump-offs.

He'll be okay in PPR until he gets injured again, if you get lucky and he stays healthy it's a steal

Luck is, after all, what makes this pursuit of ours so maddening....and satisfying.

Looks like he’s due back this weekend, based on his injury prone season do you think he’s worthy of a roster spot?

I’ve been debating this with a few other guys, and I don’t think I could trust him in a huge playoff game or needing to win before playoff game. He had broken ribs....not sure those heal easily with no after affects. He will get hit there again.

Plus, the OL has lost 2 starters for season and they have a back up qb who is probably going to see a lot of 8 man fronts.

So how many checkdowns can CT get? Could he last an entire game? Do you have other options?

Yeah that’s where I’m at also.

Just thinking about playoff depth.

But really have a hard time trusting his ability to just stay on the field during a game.

This time of year you grab any free agent RB with flex upside....which he certainly has. I grabbed him last week for depth in my leagues. Not starting him this week, of course, but anxious to see how he is used Monday night.

I don't roster or start running backs that don't get rushing carries. James White and Chris Thompson will never see my team because too big a chance for inconsistency week to week.

I understand. To each his own....but yards are yards, brother.

Would rather roster one of them with some upside, than an ox like Jordan Howard getting me 17/45

Great points.

I can get behind your statement.

Thanks.

I can understand that, but last week didn’t he have 9 carries for 73 yards? I guess my point is, he seems to have at least 5 carries per game. I guess 5 isn’t enough for your liking, right? I can understand though.

Yeah but you can’t count on him avg 8 yards per rush.

Plus Burkhead does return this weekend.

But I do think Thompson could get more work in the run game then White.

But still I think it’s good points from Gepetto.

Correct. I'll only roster full blown starters who both run (like 15 carries a game or more) and catch. And I only play 1 point per receptions leagues. Just a philosophy I've used in FF for years.

That's cool, since we all have our quirky FF philosophies....although the RB's you describe are relatively few and far between........and Lindsay has only averaged 12 carries/game and Kamara around 13 :dunno:
