Strategy Question: Benching Sanders/Thomas for Sanu/Gresham

I'm down 30 points going in to MNF tonight. My opponent has Peyton Manning, while I currently have Jeremy Hill, Emmanuel Sanders, and Julius Thomas in my starting lineup. I also have Sanu and Gresham on my bench.

 

Am I crazy here to think that my only shot at winning is by starting Sanu and Gresham over Sanders and Thomas? Even if Hill has a monster game, most likely Peyton will keep pace with Sanders and Thomas and I'll end up on the losing end. The only way I can see pulling off the Monday Night Miracle is if the Broncos mail it in like the Colts did yesterday and the Bengals somehow put together a huge offensive game (very unlikely). Am I crazy or smart (in a desperate kind of way)?

In standard scoring, yes.

 

In PPR, no - you stick with the guys who you think will score best.

 

Some of this strategy considers your scoring system, so take that into account.

Yes, yes I know. I figure with the Broncos I have a zero percent chance, but with the Bengals maybe it increases to one in a million!?

 

The league is a .5 PPR league, which probably just complicate things more.

Peyton never gets hurt, though that is the one scenario where this could backfire. Or if he would for some reason get benched.

Or Hill just has a good game and Peyton goes to Sanders & OJ ...which is what has happened through 2 quarters.
