eb122 0 Posted July 28, 2006 Hey gang, We are back for another huge NFL season. Cant wait to get it all under way. We decided to do a keeper league in my big leagues this season and we can keep one guy which will count for 3 rounds higher then he was picked in 2005. So a 4th rounder last season would be your 1st rounder this season. Alot of this I am guessing is based on draft order, but here are my best choices right now and wanted to see what you all thought. 10 team league with yardage, TD's, recepts and average all counting for points Steve Smith - Drafted in 5th round and would be 2nd rounder this year Tatum Bell- Drafted in 9th round and would be 6th rounder this year Favre- Drafted in 8th would be 5th. Kevin Curtis would be 12th rounder this year. I am leaning toward either SS or Bell but it seems Bell is the better value as SS is getting picked late first early 2nd in most leagues. Any advice or opinions would be great. Thanks, Eb
J-Money 4 Posted July 28, 2006 When do you have to pick your keepers? If you get to wait for a little while I'd keep a keen eye on bell. I've heard he wuz the only one to run with the first team today and he looked stronger and still retained his speed. If he is declared the #1 runner, you have to keep him, especially since you can keep him again next year for a 3rd rounder
Great White Hope 0 Posted July 29, 2006 Where do you pick in the draft. I would try to get as high in the draft as possible, but with a 10 team league I would have to agree that Bell is probably your best option. You could get Smith after round 2 in a 10 teamer. brotherbock 349 Posted July 30, 2006 Bell for a 6th rounder would be good value. I just don't know about passing up Steve Smith for a second round pick. Smith was a phenom last year when he had cartoon characters and cardboard cutouts running patterns opposite him. With MeShawn taking away attentionm, he'll be big again this year. Yeah, Bell's good value, meaning the pick you have to give up is much lower than where he'll go, compared to the other options. But getting a 6th rounder with a 14th round pick would be even better value, right? Smith is probably an early second, late first round pick. He's the top WR to go in many mocks I've seen. So you're not getting a steal, but essentially guaranteeing a nice 2nd round pick. I could go either way. But, if you can, wait a while. Smith just tweaked his hammy yesterday in camp, the same one he tweaked earlier this summer. Watch to see what happens there as long as you can.

I agree with this. you cannot pass on S Smith but it does depend where you draft in your league. If you draft mid to late early you probably want to get a RB and pass on S Smith and get WRs 3rd round.
eb122 0 Posted August 9, 2006 Hey guys awesome information thanks so much!! I finally got my draft position and I am #6 in a ten team league. Below was my roster from last year along which the round they were drafted in. I can keep any guy from below which counts for 3 rounds higher then it says below. I was leaning toward Bell or S. Smith but with the #6 pick and the confusing Denv RB situation all that has changed. So what do u all think of who i should keep. Cant keep 1. Tomlinson 2. Holt 3. Barber Possibilities... 4. F. Taylor 5. S. Smith 6. Baltimore 7. Driver 8. Favre 9. Bell 13. Williamson 15. Kevin Curtis Any info would be great!! Peace, Eb
eb122 0 Posted August 11, 2006 Anyone got any keeper advice for a long time fftoday member. Thanks, Eb
enoto 0 Posted August 11, 2006 Tatum seems to be in the dog house and not #1 anymore in the depth chart so I would have to go with Smith, all the others don't seem worth the pick you give up.

It looks like Ronnie brown and LJ will be kept from last season so my keeper decisions now come down to. S. Smith as my 2nd pick T. Bell as my 6th pick K. Curtis as my 12th pick You all think i should go for one of them or just not keep anyone? Post link and i will help u as well. Eb
