Answer me this

Two brands of frozen berries

More expensive "better" brand is 16 grams of sugar and 130 calories per 8 oz.

Cheap Great Value brand from Walmart is 10 grams of sugar and 80 calories per 8 oz

Both have strawberry, blueberry, BlackBerry, raspberry. No extra ingredients added including sugar. Why such a large difference?

Perhaps one has syrup or something? Idk.

It says no sugar added. The ingredients on both packages only include the berries

could be higher quality berries, could be that a little more sugar + a little more calories = more expensive, not everyone is looking for the lowest sugar, lowest calorie item. Someone using the frozen berries for protein smoothies looking to gain weight would want the higher calorie bag.

idk. just throwing out random guesses aside from the obvious name brand vs generic.

More expensive one has added purée of strawberries or same berries in the mix?

It's the actual whole berries. No puree

Ratio of berries differs between the 2 brands.

Strawberries have less grams of sugar per cup blueberries, and so on.

Maybe, but the more sugar brand seems to have a larger strawberry ratio

That's another good guess as strawberries and raspberries and such are more expensive than bluberries

might be how they are mixed and how processed.

per 3oz

Blueberries: 8.4 g/ 49 cal= $.29

Blackberries: 4.2 g/ 37 cal= $.74

Strawberries: 4.1 g/ 27 cal= $.56

Raspberries: 3.7 g/ 44 cal= $.73

I'm going to need an exact ratio of fruit in each bag. Damn this project is more work than I thought

Odds are the wal Mart brand are not prime berries thus having less sugar and flavor

I was actually happy to see less sugar in the cheaper brand.

100 percent don't blame you.... If there is no flavor difference in whatever you use them in I think the answer is to buy the cheap less sugar ones

Somewhere out there, a person responsible for measuring nutrition facts/data has the same math aptitude as George W. Bush's budget director.

I could be totally wrong. Stawberries always seem to be most expensive around me

It's probably per serving and the serving sizes are different

Yeah. I was trying to say he probably fücked up without explicitly stating he up.

it says each is per 8 OZ

Yeah. I'm trying to say he probably fücked up. People make mistakes on units of measure.

What if it was 2 eight ounce bags? One was one serving and the other said 2 servings?

I think I may have realized where the difference is.

One is measured in 8 ounces.

One is measured as one cup. I just assumed they meant fluid ounces with both. The 8 oz measurement is probably weight.
