Does anyone ever use microwave functions...

Recommended Posts

Nah. They don't work. I put in a potato one time and hit the pizza button, but when it came out it was still a potato.

I don't even make the effort to push different minutes and seconds.

If I want 1:00 minute, I hit 1-1-1 (1:11). If I want 2:00 minutes, I hit 2:22.

[posty]I don't own a microwave[/posty]

Oh no don’t stop there. It’s not just he doesn’t own one. It’s he doesn’t own one and has never even used one once in his life ever.

Serves you right. Eggs should only be hunted legally, and even then it's not much of a challenge.

It is not just microwaves, the list increases every day.

Dish washer

Clothes washer

Toaster

Etc.

Etc.

We can add my car to this list.

Add my new Vap Pen, it has its own app and offers a number of use and tracking options.

I always use 60-70% power when warming up cold food it heats it more evenly, and doesn't dry things out

Same. I lower the power and increase the minutes often. Also, as stated above, the popcorn button works like magic.

Mine is a combo microwave and actual convection oven. Small kitchen so its a great second oven. Can even super cook with micro and convection.

Nice to use and not heat up the house

Never wouldve pegged you as a vapper.

In a million years, never. I have a picture in my head of what each of you looks like and now I totally have to redo him. Fock.

The reheat function works well.

Throw in leftovers, hit one button and thru some kind of magic the MW determines how much time is required to heat a specific amount of food.

Popcorn function takes out the guesswork.

I use defrost at 75% weight to avoid cooking or hotspots in meat.

Mine has a button that says add :30 and I use it all the time.

The numbers on mine run for the number of minutes - e.g., press 2 and it runs for 2 minutes. This feature along with the 30 second button comprise 99+% of my microwave usage.

I have a pizza slice button that works well, the popcorn button burns the popcorn though.

Interesting... my GE Profile doesn't have such a button, and my past experience has been that microwaving pizza makes it a soggy mess. I reheat pizza in an Oster toaster oven we have, for crisp crusty goodness.

Does your crust come out OK from the microwave button?

People like me and Honcho who think cold pizza tastes like cardboard.

Please don't tell me you are a crumpler as well. I used to hold you in high regard. :(

It does come out okay, good temp, not soggy at all in 1:40 seconds. I've had other microwaves where it would make the crust all soggy, but this one doesn't. I used to reheat in the oven til I got this Microwave, I'll check out the brand when I get home.

I use the reheat, pizza and potato functions. I often use Power level 5 (50% power) when I'm making Jasmine rice.

I should probably try some of these buttons since my company enables their development. :dunno:

And I don't refrigerate pizza.

My 1 through 6 buttons can be used to auto quick start the microwave... If I want four minutes, I just hit the "4" button... Then in I want to bump it up 30 seconds, I hit the "Add 30 Sec" button...

Auto defrost is pretty good... The popcorn button is good as well, but I never let that finish as it is usually done popping with about 5-10 seconds left...
