Brady's closer to being cut than yesterday

Recommended Posts

Brady cut? I'm sure you read that article wrong. Brady wants the team to win so he redoes his contract so the team can keep some of it's other players. His done it before so I'm not surprised he's doing it again. The guy is a team player. Hate all you want but he is the least bit selfish in terms of money and wants the team to be better

Or he wants to win more superbowls instead of a few extra million...

He still gets to collect every penny so long as they don't cut him. But he's still putting his neck out for the team because now they can cut him ... at any time ... no problem.

His archnemesis Peyton has been looking ordinary (read old) for the last month and he himself had some rumors swirling earlier in the season, so it's quite the ballsy move for a guy deep into his 30s.

Brady is a genius.

Should he be cut, another team would break the bank to acquire him.

He is not going anywhere.

this... there will always be a cleveland/arizona or some type team that is a decent QB away from being good... and QBs like Brady would demand a mint for a short term contract

This. The rub being we all know that once you leave the system in NE, you fail in anything else. Cassell managed to win almost a dozen games in NE, but once he left, nada....Branch.....the list goes on and on, and includes coaches.

Cassel led KC to a 10-6 record and division title two years later.

Brady is closer to his yearly embarrassment in the playoffs since they stopped cheating. I'm not positive but I'm almost sure that the pats have been afc SB favorites at some point of the year all of the last 10 years. Nada. Instead he gets waxed by the likes of the Ravens, Eli manning and mark Sanchez. Safest bet in sports is a 2 week plan of betting against the pats this week...if they win then make an even bigger bet the next week. No chance they make the SB.

The difference is this year they have a defense and a bit of a running game. Pats have never won anything relying on Brady's arm.

truth.

Not many teams have won a title relying only on the QB's arm. Very few actually.

To me the patriots weakest link is their receivers. Outside of gronk their receivers aren't exactly stellar

They've been to the super bowl twice since their title years, as your own post acknowledges

When you look at QB cap hit as a % of total salary, Brady is like 17th in the NFL...

Edit: And he will actually drop on the list as Newton, Wilson and others cash in... Amazing Bradford, Dalton, Kaepernick, Cutler are all ahead of brady...lol

Its definitely true that the key to cap management is getting an upper echelon QB in a team friendly contract

or you don't pay mediocre QB's elite QB money just because they are a FA....

Or you can have a great guy like Brady who will rework his contract to help the team and not worry about making many more millions of dollars for himself. Guys like cutler and flacco who push for more and more money instead of helping their team out are what is wrong. Yea I'm a pats fan but even if I wasn't that is still good character.

It is but let's keep in mind his wife makes more money than he does anyways. Would be different if his family's economic circumstances were tied only to his contract IMO

That is definitely a factor in it but still it isn't like the guy is broke. He's a millionaire so even if his wife didn't make that kind of money I still think he would work with them around his contract.

Pretty sure Tom redid his contract awhile ago as well, before he was with Giselle.

He's gonna get his cut, but he'll do what he can to help the team.....that's been proven at least twice, but I think 3 times.
