Who are you targeting this offseason?

Recommended Posts

With the Superbowl over, I've noticed many owners in my leagues have not logged in for a while. That means in another week or so, it will be trading time. I like to do the bulk of my offseason trading before the rookie draft as owners tend to develop man-crushes on certain players coming out of college, which makes them more likely to part with a seriously undervalued player for less than they are worth.

My early targets:

Carlos Hyde - Even if Gore comes back, this should be the beginning of the Hyde era. He only came in for obvious running plays and against stacked lines, but still played well. His burst was obvious.

Eric Ebron - I love how far his value has fallen. He was a mid first rounder in the rookie drafts last season and those owners were expecting too much. He needed to learn to block. I expect a major increase in his role next season, followed by a third year breakout. If you can get him now, I'd advise it. He has the potential to break out sooner than I think.

Tyler Eiffert - I have actually picked him up on the waiver wire in dyansty leagues. It cracks me up. Cincy drafted him high for a reason and he couldn't control the injury last season. You may not even have to trade for him as he is listed on the waiver wire in a bunch of dynasty leagues I'm not in.

CJ Spiller - I'm gambling here, but I expect him to end up in New York. If he goes with Gailey, you can expect a decent season. It may not be great, but the CJ owners I know are desperate to unload him. Again, we're talking a very minimum price for a guy who "could" help you win. Get him before free agency begins though as his stock will rise as the hype machine builds.

Jarvis Landry - A great WR3/4 in PPR for 2015. Some people are already on to him being a future PPR monster. Some aren't. Offer a trade and see what you can do. He was clearly Tannehill's most trusted WR in the 2nd half of the season, yet people are overlooking him. So what if he only catches 5/6 balls each week. He will remain consistent.

Austin Sefarian Jenkins - I own him in a lot of leagues. People keep trying to get him, so maybe the word is out already. He's going to be a nice player at some point and you should be able to still get him cheap, if the owner isn't paying attention. I don't think he's "special", but he could be a TE that falls in the 8-10 range on a consistent yearly basis.

Brian Quick - He was finally having his breakout season for the Rams before his injury. This kid is actually a great football player. I've seen him play in person, watched him in college, and have held him for years in dynasty leagues. In looking through some leagues, he's on the waiver wire in plenty of them. The Rams do need a QB, but I expect Quick to be the focal point at the WR position.

There are a ton of guys I'm missing, so feel free to add yours. Now is the time to get in on the good deals, while other owners are relaxing.

You'd do well to be 1/10th as valuable to this forearm as Upper Class Trash. How about you start contributing more than "oh my soul" and endless inane other posts?

I don't think I understand you Weepaws. You make some crazy comments, yet ask us to pray for every heathen in the NFL. Gordon? All he needs is prayer and church. Manziel? Ditto. Ray Rice, well, a little church will do the trick. Sapp? Hey, church fixes all his issues.....

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but when isn't it a bit hypocritical on your end to say all these guys only need church in every post that comes out, yet make sarcastic (worthless) comments in others?

I would love to type more here, but I think I'll take my lineup to the mega church down the street. The preacher there keeps telling me if I give him ten percent of my earnings, my team will go undefeated next season.

I'm targeting top 6 picks in this draft. Infected by rookie fever once again which hit early in my part of the country but will be making its way throughout the nation in due time. I actually got a shot of the vaccine but apparently they formulated it for the wrong strain. Catching the fever now is corollary to "If you are going to panic, might as well panic before everybody else does."

Greg Olsen or Martellus Bennett - getting a quality TE is my goal this off season

Jarvis Landry - as a owner I would love to keep him if I had room.

Allen Robinson - he'll be a great mid to late round pickup. He was putting up decent numbers before the injury I think he can pick up where he left off.

I like Jeremy Hill and will target him in trade... Kicking myself for not drafting him last year.

I own Spiller and I hope he moves on. I think Ryan only coaches one side of the ball and the committee in Buffalo isn't promising.

Lots of TEs on your list... I'll avoid Eifert as long as Gresham is there, too. Not overly high on Ebron either. I could be wrong, but the position is deep once you move past the top tier.

I like Moncrief in Indy. He seems to be the right mix of talent and opportunity.

I'll have a better idea of my targets once free agency and the draft shake out. I have very deep dynasty teams but, after Brees, the shelf is bare at QB. Drew struggled at times last year and I'm concerned with the rise in INTs.
