Gun Rights

Gun Rights

31 members have voted

  1. 1. What rights should citizens have when it comes to firearms?

    • Citizens should be allowed to own and possess any and all weapons
      4
    • Citizens can own most firearms, but military grade weapons and explosives are illegal
      23
    • Citizens are only allowed to own a limited number of rifles, no handguns.
      3
    • Citizens are not allowed to own any firearm of any kind

Assuming felons cannot own firearms, I voted most firearms except the military stuff. I don't see a need for someone having the "assault rifles".

We have the right to keep and bear arms. The 2A doesn't mention explosive ordnance.

I think citizens should be able to own all kinds of fire"arms".

Anything that blows up.

I think firecrackers should be legal. :dunno:

Agreed

Voted the second option...but it needs more clarification as it's more complex than choices.

I'd be ok with citizens owning rifles but no handguns. After a background check and training course, a handgun license could be issued at a healthy cost.

Arent military grade explosives and things already illegal? I can't just buy a rocket launcher.

Also side note, just for kicks id like to see stats of gun violence with black on black crime removed from the equation.

This.

Other than the 30-day waiting period, what else?

I support mandatory background checks and possibly no private gun sales, or at least sales that are "officiated" by a licensed dealer with a paper trail. I also support mandatory immediate reporting of a lost or stolen firearm and criminal liability for people who fail to properly secure or report a stolen gun that is subsequently used in a crime.

I have no real problem with private gun ownership, my issue is with weak laws that allow thousands of guns that were at one time purchased legally to disappear into the black market.

Everyone knows my stance - Commercial sales of firearms and ammunition in the entire U.S. should be banned. Keep your 2nd Amendment. Wait 10, 20, 50+ years..... Society wins.

Great idea, but politically unrealistic. Which is why all gun-right discussions are pointless. This country will suffer through 100 more years of carnage as politicians take worthless baby steps "better background checks, limit gun show sales, smaller magazine sizes, etc." None of which will have any real effect. There's nothing anyone can do. Sandy Hook taught us that - worst mass shooting ever, no laws passed, NRA membership increased. God bless America.

What drives me most insane about gun-rights advocates is the lack of critical thinking. At least I'm reasonable. If gun violence rates were a fraction of what they are, I'd be all for gun rights! But if they were 10 times higher, gun-rights advocates wouldn't care. No amount of carnage is too great.

So as the only confirmed guy on this bored as a leo... what do you all think of my stance on the matter? Just curious.

A lot of LEO's support the constitution. You either believe in constitutional carry or agree with something similar to what we already have now.

You and I have discussed this before. We are pretty much on the same page, though I think you can make an argument for even longer waiting periods.

How the Fock do we change from #2 to 1 if the government becomes tyrannical? You think they'd lessen regulation prior to enslaving us?

Challenge....those who think guns should be banned go put a sign out front saying "no guns present here"

Dumb.

Please Stop with the simplistic arguments. Post that crap on Facebook or something.

It's the geek bored.....the place for simplistic arguments.

And speaking of simplistic; the thread Op "ban all commercial sales"....you think that covers all the ways guns are used violently?

Yeah, that really destroys any shred of credibility Gobble may have on this topic.

I think US should ban commercial firearm sales.... and I own a gun. Where is the hypocrisy? I've never said anyone should get rid of theirs.

If commercial sales are banned and a few years later my gun is worth $2,000+, sure I might sell it because I won't be able to afford the bullets to shoot it anyway. That's the whole point... poor people would sell in droves. Ya know, the folks committing the vast majority of gun crime anyway.

How is banning drugs working out for violence and curbing the use of them?

Drugs are banned, yet people still buy drugs. So by Filthy's amazing logic - it is therefore pointless to ban anything. Very impressive thinking.

Although grenades are banned, why isn't anyone buying those? Lots of things are banned that are almost impossible to find. But that goes against Filthy's deductive reasoning.?. Could it be that drugs are easy to manufacture, distribute, and there's a huge demand/profit margin? Nah. Banning anything is pointless. Lift all bans. Might as well legalize drinking and driving too, since people will just do that anyway.

Nope.. I think they eventually ramp up gun control. Disarm us, and once the population is disarmed, we can not defend ourselves against them.

I don't think the military would have such an easy time of it right now. Too many patriot vets armed to the gills out here.

Why do you think most of us won't budge a smidge?

Your hypocrisy lies in the fact that you advocate a commercial sales ban, not because of the "carnage" you rail against, but because you want YOUR gun to appreciate in value.

PM me the makes and models. I'll double your asking price if I'm interested.

ZOOM

The liberal clown missed the point. You think ramping up the price of guns by banning the sales commercially will eventually stop the violence. It's focking laughable how silly the notion is. Guns will flow across the borders just as easy as drugs if not easier.

Then there's the issue of private sales and regulating that. How many are you permitted to sell per year? Ammo as well.

Liberalism is really a mental disorder.
