The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has designated MDMA, better known as the illegal drug ecstasy, a "breakthrough therapy" for posttraumatic stress disorder, a status that may lead to faster approval. David Nutt, a neuropsychopharmacologist at Imperial College London, said, "This is not a big scientific step. It’s been obvious for 40 years that these drugs are medicines. But it’s a huge step in acceptance." People suffering with PTSD can be triggered by a sound or a smell which can bring a traumatic memory rushing back. According to Nutt, MDMA can dampen the emotional response to the memory, allowing people to relive their trauma and work through it. Wochit

The party drug of the '80s and '90s is making a roaring comeback.

In just two years, narcotics agents in Mississippi have seen seizures of ecstasy (also known as MDMA) soar from just 261 pills to more than 35,000 pills last year. Nationally, more than 12 million Americans have tried the illegal stimulant.

Ecstasy (called "Molly," "E" and the "hug drug") is often laced with other drugs, sometimes deadly fentanyl. Almost a third of the illegal drug sold on the streets in the U.S. contains no ecstasy at all, according to a study by the Florida House Experience.

"You're really playing Russian roulette with what you're taking," said Tommie Whitten, treatment specialist for Southern Mississippi Addiction Campuses.

In 1912, a chemist at the German pharmaceutical company, Merck, hoping to clot uncontrollable bleeding, created ecstasy.

The drug didn't work and sat on the shelf until the 1950s, when the government experimented with it and other drugs. After that work was declassified, psychotherapists in the early 1980s tried the drug with patients.

The drug made its way from doctors' offices to the club scene, and in 1985, the federal government banned the drug.

By the 1990s, the drug became so popular it trailed only marijuana, cocaine and heroin among drug users — only to fade out, in part because of the pills' dilution.

The new wave has brought more potent versions of ecstasy to the fore.

My brother was a club DJ in the 90s and early 00s. He told me that extacy is the focking best thing ever, but not to do it. Focks up your brain, he said.

 

So I didnt. Years later, I met a chick on social media here in china. Hot as Fock, and obviously a huge party girl. Posts video of her friends passed out and then poking her in the poosay and stuff.

 

Anyway, she said I should come out with them, take extacy with them, and party.

 

Frankly, at that point, I would have tried it in the states. But no way am I taking Chinese ex. God knows whats in it, and I cant imagine a huge white dude wandering around china rolling is a great idea.

I've had very good stuff from a roommate in college.

 

I've had really bad stuff from a guy I did not know that I knew was a combo of Adderall, Viagra, and maybe some pain killer or obvious just OTC filler.

 

Moral of the story is if you are going to do these things get it from someone you know or trust or don't do it at all. Don't do any of this in pill form.

 

Honestly it is risky. But it was fun.

Or so Ive heard a whole bunch of times in the last couple of years, and every time Ive heard this, its worked out that Ive never died.

I may of made that up but it just seems correct to me. Ive only done it maybe 4 or 5 times zo im not some expert. Pressed pill form just seems like the stuff that is cheaper bouncing around raves and clubs. It is pressed and colored. Just seems to scream guess what all is in this.

 

Where as a bag of powder/shards or the actual rock of it is visable and not souped up. You can see what it is or at least looks like.

 

My guess is pressed pills on average are cut much more often.
