mmmmm...beer 691 Posted December 18, 2016 We have a conventional spring Sealy Posturepedic "Dream Queen" thats pretty much bounced out. Had it for about a decade now. We're really close to pulling the trigger on one of these: https://casper.com/sleep-system Some really good reviews everywhere online. Middle of the line as far as price for a bed setup. 100 day sleep on it return policy where they pay for the return. No hassle... Anyone been on one of these beds? IGotWorms 3,249 Posted December 18, 2016 I've heard good things but never slept on one myself. Got a new memory foam mattress from Costco recently. Very comfy and good for back/hip/etc. pain. But I have a feeling it won't last super long

jerryskids 5,069 Posted December 19, 2016 We might get a similar bed for our next one, Tuft and Needle, which is a Phoenix area company I think.
MDC 5,805 Posted December 19, 2016 I've heard good things but never slept on one myself. You should try it. Once I started sleeping in a bed my pile of straw and old rags just couldn't cut it anymore.

NorthernVike 2,079 Posted December 19, 2016 My wife wants one of these. Anything specific to consider when purchasing one? If you have a store near you, you have to go and see which ones you like the most. They've added many extra features since I got mine (tilt and such). If the one you like isn't on sale, wait a while, it will be. Never pay full price, they are insane. We didn't go top of the line but not the bottom either. They come in a few boxes and you put them together. Very simple. Took us a few weeks to get the setting just right. As you are a geek and money is no object. I would recommend the X12. Currently on sale for only $6,099.

jerryskids 5,069 Posted December 19, 2016 http://us.technogelworld.com/ We bought ours for around $3200. Best investment I have made. Hmm... my wife is a stomach sleeper, as many of you know. I wonder how that kind of gel stuff would work. We tried a pillow top years ago and she hated it; we had to take it back. I own one. Nothing but great reviews. Hard as a damned rock to sleep on. Back hurts every morning. That might work for my wife. We have a pretty firm mattress now, although probably not as firm as we think since we've been breaking it in for 15 years. We have a pretty firm mattress now, although probably not as firm as we think since we've been breaking it in for 15 years. Pillows are completely different from the matress. I love a soft feather pillow but a firm mattress. My wife went from waking up in tears to sleeping great through the night because of back pain. I went from slightly uncomfortable to in heaven. And the gel makes sure the mattress doesn't get too warm. I recently slept in a regular memory foam mattress at a hotel and holy fvck was I hot from the heat it retains. Not pillows, pillow top mattresses. Anyway, the heat thing is a useful input since we live in Phoenix which occasionally gets kind of warm, so we'll definitely consider this. We dropped 80 on a pillow at the time and I thought that was crazy. But I love that pillow. Only need one, no need to double up, and I sleep so great with it. Only need one, no need to double up, and I sleep so great with it. I'm primarily a side sleeper and I've got a thick firm pillow as well. I don't know what we paid for it but I would pay $80 easy and you would need to pry it out of my cold dead hands. Or slip it out from under me when I was sleeping. cbfalcon 824 Posted December 20, 2016 I did the new bed thing about 3 years back. After a couple weeks of research and multiple trips the store, I was all ready to go iComfort. But I tweaked my back the final day and went in and snap changed to some other bed. Well that was obviously stupid. But I eventually got them to switch it out with the iComfort and I've been happy ever since. Had a decent amount of back issues. Around that time I made a big effort in regards to posture, foam rollers, weights, and the new bed. So while I can't credit the bed fully, it gets credit on the scoreboard. As for pillows, i spent about $180 or so on a memory foam gel pillow that same day, and I'll never go with a lameass normal pillow again.

Cloaca du jour 2,064 Posted July 26, 2017 We just bought a hybrid serta. Half foam half support. We got an adjustable base. Head and foot raising only. It is fockin awesome!!! You can probably throw any crappy mattress on an adjustable base and it will be great.
