PSULions 0 Posted May 14, 2014 I feel your pain Godfather! It hurts when your Ace goes down with TJ surgery and will be out for 12-18 months. TJ surgery is really coming an issue for MLB pitchers as man of them are going under the life very early in their careers.
Ghost96 4 Posted May 14, 2014 This was more than just a really good pitcher, ...and a terrible injury break. When I saw the news on JF, I wanted to barf. Even though I'm in two leagues, and I didn't even come close to signing him on in either league, ....I've seen a fair amount of his 2014 footage. This guy has been simply DISGUSTING, ....DOMINANT. And he won't turn 22 until the end of July. Such a shame to see a young dude with that degree of talent get shut down for untold months. Sorry, Godfather, rough break for everybody--not to get to watch him do his thing for such a long time.
posty 2,296 Posted May 15, 2014 This trend will continue as well... I think that these pitchers arms are close to being destroyed before they even get to the post-high school years and it is just a ticking time bomb... Proper mechanics and maybe refrain from throwing breaking balls until they get a lot older would help instead of letting loose at the age of 12...
TheGodfather414 4 Posted June 7, 2014 I will agree with what everyone else has said. First, a lot more was lost that just a few people missing their fantasy ace. we won't be able to watch him for the next couple of seasons. And will he ever get back to the form we have seen the first couple of years? Who knows..... Secondly, something definitely must be done about the number of arm injuries happening each year. I agree limits (innings and games played) must be placed on these guys at a young age.
TheGodfather414 4 Posted July 13, 2014 And now Tanaka.... Not on my team, but reiterating what we said a few weeks ago. The baseball world is missing out on something special when these guys go down.
