drobeski 3,061 Posted December 19, 2017 'Until after' was demonstrated, by making the move with the football thrust over the goal line. The play - as established by the rule parrot posted - was determined the moment that control was determined after "initial contact with the ground", because he turned with the ball and extended his arms out to the goal line. Geronimo Allison was determined to have possessed the ball yesterday, and moved FAR LESS than James did after initial reception; did not go to the ground, and was stripped. It was ruled a completed catch, and a strip. James caught the ball; went to a knee then sat on the ground, THEN twisted with the ball in both hands and extended it over the goal line. Touchdown. You lose. I can't lose here. These aren't my teams. scoreboard ?

edjr 5,563 Posted December 19, 2017 Patriots-Steelers draws highest NFL rating of season Patriots-Steelers draws highest NFL rating The Patriots’ dramatic win over the Steelers Sunday was also a huge victory for the NFL. CBS says the big game drew the league's highest overnight rating of the season, per Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch. The 17.0 ratings figure projects to 25-27 million fans. Those numbers aren’t surprising, given the game’s incredible hype and finish. The Patriots scored the go-ahead touchdown with 1:33 remaining, but the Steelers responded immediately. Pittsburgh wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster recorded a 68-yard reception on the next drive, leading the Steelers to New England’s 10-yard line. From there, Ben Roethlisberger seemingly connected with tight end Jesse James for the game-winning TD, but the pass was ruled incomplete after replay review. James lost control of the ball as he hit the ground. Two plays later, the Patriots picked off Roethlisberger to ice the contest. The NFL has been plagued with declining ratings all season long. But the expected viewership totals for Patriots-Steelers show fans will still watch entertaining games with high-profile teams. The problem is, there have been too few of those contests this year, due to injuries and widespread mediocrity. Patriots-Steelers also carried important playoff implications. With the win, the Patriots are now the No. 1 seed in the conference. It’s likely home field advantage for the AFC championship was decided Sunday. Interestingly enough, the James non-catch may have turned Steelers fans off from the NFL for the day. Cowboys-Raiders drew a paltry 6.4 rating in Pittsburgh, which is NBC’s lowest figure for that market on record, according to Sports Business Daily’s Austin Karp. ason No surprise
parrot 789 Posted March 21, 2018 Well the good thing about the Patriots benefiting from this call is that they will now finally change the catch rule. Anytime the pats win because of a controversial rule or by exploiting a rule, the NFL ends up changing the rule.
