Worst first pick ever......................

Recommended Posts

ObJ and DJ here, nice try though. But yea Julio is the shitz. Dont worry, he will have a random 250yd game midseason and jump the rankings making everyone think he had a better year than he did.

I destroy you

that same year, I went Trent in 2 leagues and piggybacked David Wilson in both!

Ah thanks for the reminder. Drafted Wilson Rnd 2 as well and even after he was benched I traded him to a taco for DJax in his huge year. I forget who my first pick was but doesnt matter, they always bust or get hurt.

Mine? Julio Jones, this year. What an overrated POS-nothing he is.

Julio really is a great player.

Having said that, I just looked up his numbers and found that Julio has scored only 5 TDs in his last 18 regular season games. Will Fuller has that many in his last three.

That hurts.
In one of my leagues that year I spent a late first on Richardson and an early second on CJ Spiller. That was the year that they were supposed to 'Run Spiller until he pukes'.

I am easily going to win this catagory. Then again, it was my first year and nobody explained the rules to me and they needed a 12th guy. so I figured why pick one player....

In 2004 with the first pick I took the Bucs defense.

I picked Jordy Nelson ...then he promptly shredded his knee in pre season

I'm sure there have been others, but the one that stands out most is CJ Spiller the "feed him until he pukes" season. To top it off, I followed it up with Ridley the season Bellichick finally had enough of the fumbles. And of course I talked a ton of sh!t the entire rest of the draft.

I like the logic behind it. I've had plenty of bad picks but I'm apparently really good at repressing them.

The year I picked up on the sophomore RB regression pattern.

Laurence Maroney, Reggie Bush, Brandon Jacobs back to back to back.

Not a fun year.

Assuming the OP is the guy who was bitching about the NCAA/UNC/Uncle Tom/East Coast Bias the other day. That was a great thread.

I agree with OP..

A lot of people were against Julio preseason in the first place I had him DND..

As for DJ, OBJ, and even Rodgers.. injury is not the same as being a scrub...

Dark horse candidate: Lesean McCoy still has 0 TDs. Zero.

I had a horrible run of 1st picks to start my fantasy career.

In my first year playing fantasy, I picked Lamont Jordan in his first year with the Raiders. He had played well with the jets the year before and got super paid to defect. He was of course terrible. And hurt.

After that, I decided to go established and safe. I picked Shaun Alexander the first year he decided to be hurt, slow, tired of being tackled, and terrible. Seattle had oline issues. He scored like no tds and was constantly not practicing.

The year after, I picked consensus #1 guy LT with the first pick (instead of Peterson). The only time I ever got 1st pick in any league. Their whole oline got hurt and so did he. He was turrible. And Sproles stole a lot of his cheap catch work. I think he ended up a barely top 10 rb but it was an after the fact cover fo sho. I traded him to try to save my season and all of the guys I got also got hurt.

It took until my 4th year to have a decent 1st round pick. It was andre Johnson in a ppr. That was the year the Texans got beat a lot and Andre collected hella catch-up/garbage stats. He led the league in receiving. I had Schaub too I think.

Curt Warner 1987.

He had a good season plus he missed I think two games, but below the season he had in 86.

He had something like 1400 plus rushing yards 300 plus rec yards and scored like 14 total Tds in 1986.

Back then just a non ppr league

Not going to lie Weeps, I thought you lost it for a second and meant Kurt Warner, the QB. Turns out I'm just an idiot.

Was at a live draft years ago where a guy took Al Del Greco at 1.1. No joke....we still talk about it every year.

In an auction player contract league I got David Johnson for 1% of cap in his rookie year for 4 years. Broken hand/wrist first week this year. No production and need to hang on to him for next year.

In one of my leagues a few years back two owners bet and the loser had to take a kicker with his first rounder, Adam Vinatieri
