Sam Bradford predictions

Recommended Posts

Top 5 possible if healthy. Great value too...taking over Manning in the top 5 is my guess.

But my big guess is he can't sustain or stay healthy.

Last night will hype him up where the reward may not be worth the risk.

Arena League... Does that translate to 6,001 yards? :dunno:

That was hyperbole, which means the translation wasn't literal per se.

He's gonna be pretty good.

should be solid... this is the year to wait on QB... I feel like you are golden if you can pair bradford with a tom brady/romo/rivers type QB...

Brady and Bradford are my targets... your team would be stacked, and prepped for that long haul if you didn't totally fock rounds 1-6

I got both last night.

Been saying it from day 1 this guy stays healthy he's a top 5 an in the Chip Kelly's O. Grab him and grab Sanchez late and you're money at QB for the cheap.

I was gonna grab Sanchez as a backup later but brady was still there.

They were saying on ESPN the other day, that over the last 2 seasons, if you combined Vick, Sanchez and Foles stats, you would have something like the second highest ppg QB next to Luck. I drafted Brady @ 7 and Bradford @ 11. Just hope it works out.

Why is this a surprise.

Many here have stated this before…

4500yd 28td upside. Remember that's a good running team.

i think these are good ceiling numbers, given the manifest emphasis on the run game.

i suspect a more realistic number is 4200/25. kelly's system can do a lot, but the receiving corps is a limiting factor.

Lol... Not sure how you came up with that combo ie. high yardage/low TD's... Nick Foles threw for 2900 yds and 27 Tds a couple seasons ago playing about 12 games in this offense. If Bradford can play anything close to a full slate, with his accuracy and the young receivers Philly has, those TD numbers are his closer to his floor than his ceiling.

i'm baffled by this response. 4200 yards (263ypg) would have placed him 10th last season, so it's not even remotely high. 25TDs would have placed him 13th.

this stat line would be congruent with a short-to-intermediate passing attack led by a highly accurate passer who isn't renowned for the deep ball, combined with a very heavy emphasis on the power run game. that combination suggests fewer big plays, lots of long drives, and dirty work in the RZ.

foles' big season (only 241ypg) came in kelly's first campaign, before the rest of the league had adjusted. he also had djax, who was probably the premier big-play threat in the league at the time. you can talk about the potential of the current WR corps, but potential is all it is at this point. and there was not the same commitment to the run game that we've been hearing about all offseason. so it's safe to say that the situation is somewhat different.

IMO, given 16 games, bradford will be closer to 4200 than 4800. and i strongly suspect that his TD numbers will suffer from the commitment to murray/mathews/OL. TDs are hard to gauge, but for the reasons listed above, i think 30 is his absolute ceiling.

we'll see.

Waited on QB today and ended up with Eli and Bradford.

QBs went nuts early and I was not pulling the trigger so fast.

Playing the lottery with these two.

Top 5-10 out of one of them is fine by me

Draft today - 14 team, QB's 6 pt. TD, 0.5 pts. per completion. Twelve teams had taken QB when I took Bradford in the 8th and followed with Rivers in the 9th.

bradford in that offense with PPC is going to treat you very well.

I like Bradford, but this is not the year to fall in love with a QB. Looking at Agholor, Matthews, Bradford for a piece of the Eagles - if the price is right.

He's looked awfully good so far this year, but this has happened before.

then he gets hurt.

Sooner or later, he will stay healthy a full year and will put up numbers. (much like Stafford)

if you think this is the year, then what you do is you draft someone else as your QB1 and then quickly grab him as your QB2.

his injury history scares me too much to use him as a QB1, but I'd rank him as a top QB2 who can be a QB1 if healthy.

QB's went crazy early in my draft this afternoon. Felt like Xmas. Loaded up on rb and wr. Got tannehill in the 9th round and Bradford in the 11th. I'm very happy.

Granted it's still pre-season, and of course it's still pre-season, but from what I've seen the accuracy that the Chipster saw in Bradford is readily evident. Dude was firing lasers out there yesterday. And my contention is that this added commitment to the running game will only help open things up. By the way your guy Murray is a beast out there behind that Philly offensive line.

Our difference in opinion is that you see Bradford as a top 10-13 QB, while I see a far greater upside of QB 6-7 if he stays remotely healthy. They are going to run a shite ton of plays.

We have differences of opinion on a couple of specific takes. And you're right, we'll see.

This sounds good.

Tannehill should be a low end QB1.

Bradford could be a high end QB1 if he stays healthy.

of course we still dont know what we truly have in Bradford as he hasnt had a healthy season in some time. Hes still young and full of promise. I Love the guy, but Ive been burned on him once already. I do think he is an oustanding QB2. If he stays healthy and plays as advertised, you have some serious upside.

he has had 11 carries for 45 yards over the preseason. his top highlight from the GB game was hitting a gaping hole and falling down. so how does this amount to "a beast" compared to DMC's 7 carries for 41 yards?

As I said, we differ in opinion on a couple of takes with DeMarco Murray being one of them. Let's re-visit at a later point.

there's no question that murray is better. i was just curious how you arrived at the "beast in PHI" assessment, given that he has only had 11 carries, none of which are very special.

I'm in a league that has team QB, does the Philly QB situation move up in this format and if so how much?

The short answer is "yes". Definitely top 10, probably top 5. Philly has one of the better QB situations in the league. Sanchez as a backup reduces the risk of a huge performance drop off if the starter gets injured.

Look, I understand that it is pre-season, and yes I know it's pre-season, but he just looked fresh and ready to carry the mail. You looked at numbers, I'm just going off my impression. Of course, that and a quarter will buy a cup of coffee. Philly line looks in mid-season form. Let's just re-visit?

I read somewhere that since Chip Kelly became head coach, only 3 Qbs have scored more FF points than the Eagles QB. Bradford is by far the best passer Chip has had. He will be top 5 until........................ :wall:
