A buddy bought me a YETI coozie for Christmas. He paid $30 bucks for it. He also paid $300 for a thirty quart ice chest.

Any of you Fawkers pay that much for an ice chest?

Nope. No sense in buying a cooler like that if all you're using it for is going to the beach, going fishing, or need a cooler for beer during parties or the pool. A normal one will do just fine

Yeti will probably get one anyway.

I don't spend days upon days out in the wilderness or stranded on an island so.....No.

Nor does it take me 6 hours to drink a single beer so....No.

And I'm not a 'cheap' person, I like nice things. But I'm not a frivolous dummy who falls for the latest marketing campaign or whats trendy all the time either.

Someone gave me a yeti tumbler for Christmas. It's good, keeps water cold a long time, best thing is it doesn't swear, which I'm sure you can get from other cups. I don't know if it's worth the price though.

I was given a yeti can cooler for Christmas and its awesome. As far as the full sized coolers go, they are a top of the line product. I am not a big fisherman, at least not where I need a cooler of ice, but from what I read there are similar products at half the price. I think Pelican might be one of the brand names, but I am not sure.

I spend 30-40 hours offshore a couple times a summer. I have found that a high end igloo works just as well and they only cost 100-150 dollars.

This. Yeti is a status symbol. I have a Coleman Extreme. 95%+ of the performance for a 10% of the price.

The thing is, everything scales that way. You have crap at the bottom and quality at the top but its not a linear price difference. The better quality you go, the less you get for the money. Theres always a sweet spot wich is usually not that high from the bottom. Anything above is paying for brands and labels.

Take wine. The difference between a $4 bottle and a $40 bottle will be pretty big. But the difference between a $40 and a $400 bottle will be negligible at best.

Diminishing returns.

I could buy a pair of new golf shoes, a wedge & a dozen balls - and still have $$ left over for a regular 30 qrt. ice chest.. No way I'd spend $300 for one.

We use Yetti chest coolers when I travel in desert conditions mid summer... 2-3 weeks in 105 heat in the back of trailers.. Do they work better? Yes. Does the average person need them? No

I have the 30oz mug. If I fill it up with ice/water and let it sit on the counter overnight, there is still ice the next morning. It does wonders when i am out in the yard working during the summer.

Own multiple items. I'm very happy with them all. Here's the deal...I'll never need another cooler AND they work to perfection. I question why one wouldn't.

I have a yeti soft carry cooler (the kind that looks like a bag and zips up) as well as two yeti can koozies. Love all of it

I have a tumbler. It's great. Keeps drinks cold all day long. I wouldn't pay for it though, it was a gift.

Have a yeti, Ozark Trail (wal mart version) and an RTIC in the house. There is zero difference between them as far as how long Ive stays in the tumblers. They are all great.

We Use them on our drives to Wisconsin for water.

Have a can cookie for me that is the wal mart one and wife has an RTIC one and they are great too for cans or bottles.

Cooler O have no need for one. One of the moms in my sons Boy Scout troop hasnt one and its great for weekend campaign by trips.

Most dont need them and its almost a status thing for travel sports moms and dads.

Gotta look into that. My water is constantly dropping F-bombs. I can't have a cool drink in the sun without it sounding like Cartman got Tourette's and stepped on a rake.

At first I didn’t realize his posts were in the same thread. I thought you had remembered from 2yrs ago and tracked it down before putting the pieces together. Regardless...savage takedown.

Usually liars forget the lies theyve told. This one also forgets when hes told the truth.
