Week 9 WW pick ups.

Recommended Posts

Im going for Simms and Gray.

how likely is simms to grab this job? in a keeper league, i'd need to drop isiah crowell or even doug martin to pick him up...

The receivers are all interesting, but don't strike me as being significantly more impressive (if at all) when compared to recent WR pickups. Moncrief and Bryant are exciting, but for the rest of this season I wouldn't necessarily rate them ahead of guys like Allen Robinson, Odell Beckham, etc. LaFell should be picked up as well if he's out there, but his 20-points one week, 3 points the next week volatility has the potential to be quite annoying.

Sims--and if he's available, Rainey--seem like the closest thing to must-add RBs with how abysmal Martin continues to be.

I usually think the "save your waiver priority" approach causes you to miss out on too many players, but I actually might advocate it this week. If you're super depleted at WR, yes, go all in on Moncrief or Bryan or LaFell, but if you've got a good stable right now, perhaps you stand pat and just upgrade with whomever slips through.

Ryan Mathews anyone? He's on the WW in my league and is slated to return this week.

I think he could be a 10 - 11 ppg back in standard leagues when he comes back. Usually thats pretty good for a ww back, but i get scored on every week. Its to the point where if my guys arent all having really good games, a 11 point performance from a rb doesnt matter. It might as well be 0.

If you can use a rb3/emergency filler he is worth it.

I'm targeting Hawkins, Moncrief, and Taliaferro, but they're all mostly bye week fill-ins more than long-term investments IMO.

Absolutely. I don't think Oliver has been so outstanding as to overtake Mathews, who was an extremely high usage player whenever he was on the field.

I'll probably drop Oliver Saturday so he can't be used this week and pick up Witten

The Wire is looking boring this week outside of WRs. Lafell is a must add. Robinson doesn't have that same upside but higher floor and a good add. Moncrief is good short term and Bryant is a speculative add.

Rainey or Sims??

Also looking at, DeAngelo Williams, maybe Lorenzo Williams, and Jonas Gray.

Yes, I'm desperate at RB.

At WR:

Hawkins (dropped him 3 weeks ago), Donte Moncrief, and Jordan Matthews.

I grabbed Sims before the Sunday games. Rainey has been just as bad as Martin. Depending on the condition of his ankle I think Sims will get plenty of opportunity to prove himself especially with the re-rebuilding of the Bucs.

Rb: slim pickings

Deangelo

Taliaferro

Hopefully can land one of them or Jonas Gray to cover Forte/Bush/Dixon bye weeks.

Britt is a target for deep leagues. With Quick gone nobody else to throw to.

More of a desperation add with the terrible Offense.

Is Sims another Gerhart or Ball in this forum? I'm glad I drafted a fart like Ivory but some of the reaches here. Lovies coaching him he has no offensive mind.

- heads up for those who haven't had their faab run yet ... players of note

snagged Jonas 'Fudgie The Whale' Gray for $26 (200 budget, 128 left prior to bid)

2 other bids put in (21, 17) ... guess Belichek and the impending week 10 bye scared some folks off :dunno:

Teleflora was had for a fin ... 4 other bids put in, including 2 zero dollar stabs.

Bryant claimed for 22, Moncrief left dangling

Rudolph the red zone reindeer claimed for zero dollar bid ... same with Eifert (both expected back week 11)

Chucky Sims is already rostered in that league (zero bid prior to week 8), but would've been interesting to see the coin his potential would've fetched :music_guitarred:

Was able to snag Mathews I think league mates are sleeping on his return and are being naive thinking Oliver won the job. He will become what Woodhead was last year. Hope SD hold him out till after bye

I got Sims and Jordan Matthews this morning. A few guys still out there:

Gray

DeAngelo Williams

Taliaferro

Rainey

Martavis Bryant

Moncrief

Any of them worthy of swapping with Jordan Matthews and or Malcom Floyd?

Dropped Ertz for Gray, was hoping Ertz would become something big but week after week nothing. Maybe J Gray becomes something...

Seems to me people are greatly underrating Gray here.

Boldin shot up to 60+% owned after Ridley's injury, Gray is still around 25% owned in CBS. Primary ballcarrier in a revived NE offense? 17 carries?

agreed ^

was happy to snag for the rather paltry sum I bid ... factors in him being overlooked would probably be the Denver game shaping up as a Pippin extravaganza, and then the bye.

but I am sure I'll be needing Fudgie down the stretch, and in the playoffs.

man, that offense is clickin' - gimme some

I thought about Gray but then I remembered he plays for the Pats. And they specific gameplan more than any other team based on the opponnet. I see Gray being the same value as Ridley was. One game he'll get 20 carries and do well. The next game he will get 6 carries and Vareen will get lions share and they will be pass happy.

I can't take the haphazard risk and week to week changes so I passed. I'll let somebody else try to figure it out.

Well stated. I will never go back to a Hoody RB.

I do agree with the above but I had extra room on the bench to see how he does. If he blows up, maybe I can trade him to someone not very familiar with the Belichek ways. If not, I can just cut him.

Hillman hurt his shoulder today so Thompson could be inline for some work?

I think Sims could have some real value down the stretch run. Bucs are invested in the guy and they want to see what they have before the season is over. Team is a mess tho, so not sure he will put up great numbers but could develop into a solid RB2. If anyone is interested you can also get a good idea of how people feel about WW from looking at the voting records on this site too.

I've already cut Gray, and I cut Taliferio weeks ago. You guys are all so behind the curve. Gray doesn't get catches and plays for the Patriots that have an unpredictable week to week game plan. No way I'd ever start him in a prr league.
