Ideas for upgrades?

Recommended Posts

Okay. I picked #1 in a 10 team league and here's my roster.

QB- Brady, Bledsoe and Favre

RB- LJ, Westbrook, Addai, and Fred Taylor

WR- Reggie Wayne, Javon Walker, Lee Evans, Jerry Porter, Koren Robinson

TE-Shockey

D/ST- Tampa Bay

K- Nate Kaeding

I'm in a league with scoring as follows: 10 yds rushing/recieveing= 1pt. 25passing=1pt. rush/recieve TD=6pts and pass TD=4 pts.

Any ideas on some potential deals I could put together to upgrade/add depth etc?

Leave a link and I'll do my best to comment back. Thanks in advance.

Nice draft!!! I really like your rb's and wayne. I would look to upgrade at your #2 receiver. Since you look pretty good at qb I might think about packaging a qb and and any wr except Wayne for a better wr. You may be able to get a guy like Chambers or Driver. I think your team would be unbeatable.

goood Luck

answer mine please

Thanks for the help. I offered a trade to a guy in my league that has TO and Brandon Lloyd. The offer is: Javon Walker and Koren Robinson for TO and I'm hoping he accepts it to add more depth at WR since I think those guys are the only two WR's on his roster. I don't like my odds on that one, but I thought it was worth a shot.

I think you got some good RB's

If Walker returns to 2004 form you're golden.

if not, I still think you've got some decent depth to upgrade...... TE perhaps. You might be able to land a TE like Gates without doing too much damage to your starting roster.

Good Idea on the TE. I was thinking along those lines because Shockey plus one of my WR's or RB's should land me Gates. I also proposed a trade of Javon Walker and Addai for McGahee and Chambers that the guy told me he would definitely accept if the TO deal I offered that also involves walker doesnt work out. I think that's probably an upgrade at both positions but the guy thinks Addai is the next Edge and feels he's getting the better deal. Any input on this?

The second trade option seems pretty good as well, Willis scares me some this year but he is the only real RB that Buf has I think so he gets the ball and with you having Lj and Westbrook already Willis makes a good back up or RB3 depending on what you start.

I like the 1st trade too, T.O. is going to be good and I don't see any season changing blow ups/ fallouts his 1st year in Dallas.

I'll definitely be happy with either trade if it happens. I think the second gives me better depth at RB with McGahee being the only option in Buffalo, but the first gives me TO...and I'll take him at wideout any day of the week. Especially since Dallas paid him like he wanted and they should win, which are the two things it takes to keep TO happy. Anyone got any suggestions as to whether to trade Wayne or Walker because they seem to be getting equal interest in trade talks.

A couple of suggestions:

1. I don't like McGahee this season. Heck, I don't like any Buffalo player this season. Not just because they're defective people, but because they have no O-line to speak of. See if you can yank a different RB from the guy you're trading with.

2. I'm not too big on Kaeding. I don't think he'll be bad, but I'd think that in a 10-team league, there'd be a better kicker available. Although, with a sort of unproven QB, Kaeding could have good upside.

3. You kinda got in the shorts at WR. I'd pull the trigger on the trade for T.O., because you're sorely in need of a stud there.

4. You have two good RB's, and two gambles at that spot. Dangle Addai's upside in front of another owner for a more consistent back. Package him with either Bledsoe or Favre to sweeten the deal, if need be.

Thank you for your help with mine.

I don't agree with the majority on your RB's. Westbrook and Taylor get hurt almost every year. If the trend conntinues, that leaves you with LJ and Addai for most of the season. I like Addai, bu he isn't even a starter yet and we havn't seen his game translate to the NFL. There are a ton of guys I would take over Westbrook as my #2 RB. I would look to pair Westbrook with a QB or a WR other than wayne for a better #2 RB.
