Free Agent Acquisition Starts Early

Free Agent Acquisition Starts Early

  1. 1. If Free Agent Acquisition started earlier than the time posted do you?

    • Reverse all free agents transactions and start on a new date in the future.

    • Leave it alone and allow those owners that got free agents before the posted time to keep them.

After the draft we allow teams to pick up free agents until the season starts at which time we switch to waiver wire. Unfortunately the website allowed free agent pick up before the posted time. Some people were able to pick up free agents before others and some feel this is unfair.

What do you think?

Leave alone or reverse all free agent transactions and start again.

This isn't a debate about using the waiver wire in preseason but should those free agents picked up early be allowed to stay or not.

I vote for: "Reverse all free agents transactions and start on a new date in the future."

(I accidentally hit the wrong option in voting, though!)

Why?

If you keep it as it is, you will have bitter owners for the whole season, some guys who tried to abide by the rules and might get screwed for it.

If you reverse what has been done, then a few people who happened to get lucky will be pissed off for a week.

Also, fair is fair. Theoretically, the ones who picked up free agents had no right to them at the time they got them. I would definitely reverse things, especially in light of potential long term consequences.
