    Done with H2H only leagues

I have been doing H2H leagues for 15 yrs, and like most FF players I have had my share of getting "screwed" with being the highest scoring team and not making the playoffs, etc...so this year I joined a Total Points league...I kept my H2H leagues also, but figured I'd try the total points thing... Well, I absolutely HATED it. I am telling you, if you enjoy the "high" of the competitiveness of FF, then you will find Total Points soooo boring. It's like that kitchen gadget..."Set it & forget it". I like rooting for my players AND against my opponents players and with Total Points, it's not the same...you can't root against the rest of the NFL. I understand the frustrations that come with H2H leagues, but I'll take that over the boredom that I experienced in my 1st and last year in a Total Points league.

    Best or Caddy

Both should be good, but does anyone have any helpful insight on whether to start Jahvid Best or Cadillac today? I think Best is more talented, but Caddy has a great matchup. I'll answer yours.

Gore Vs. AJ from the 5 hole

Am I crazy for leaning towards AJ over Gore from the 5 hole?? I have Rice as a keeper (giving up a 9th rounder for him) and we start 2 RB and 3 WR. I figure the fact that we start 3 WR's make AJ a higher "relative value than Gore, and I already have my "stud" RB. So I'm just curious if my reasoning is flawed.

    Ray Rice in OT

Just to address the original poster's point about needing 1 more yard for that next fantasy scoring point. For the first time this year, 1 of my leagues has switched to decimal scoring...and it is GREAT. We do .1 for every yard rush/rec. and .1 for every 2 yards passing. So if a guy rushes for 89 yards, you get 8.9 points instead of the 8 points that you would get via traditional scoring. I never understood what was so special about multiples of 10 that you needed to reach to get your next fantasy point. In the "old-school" scoring method, if 1 player rushes for 90 yards and another rushes for 89, the first player gets a full extra point for rushing for 1 extra yard...but if 1 player rushes for 89 and another rushes for 80, they score the same fantasy points even though they were separated by 9 rushing yards...it just makes no sense. The decimal scoring system gives a much truer picture of the performance of the players. One other benefit is the fact that ties are much less likely to occur. I guess we all started scoring the old fashioned way when we got our stats from the newspapers and added up totals Monday morning...it would have been crazy to start adding decimals into the mix. But now with stat sevices doing it for us, it's no extra work. Just a suggestion FWIW

Anyone considering taking DeAngelo very high?

The original poster said that it looks like Stewart is out for at least the first few weeks, maybe longer...Was there some kind of news that I missed ?? Believe me, as a Deangelo owner, I will be happy to hear that I am uninformed and Stewart will be out for a while, but last I heard, Stewart was declaring himself ready for week 1. Nobody seemed to question the OP on this fact...has anyone heard something...maybe a link to the news story?? Thanks

Slaton not the red zone back!

As a Slaton owner, I have to say, this isn't fun to hear. I agree that this isn't anything that we hadn't heard a couple of weeks ago, but you still hate hearing a coach actually say that your player isn't getting the GL carries. For all the other Slaton owners who say it doesn't bother them hearing this, wouldn't you feel just a bit happier if Kubiak had said that he changed his mind and Slaton would be handling the GL duties?? If so, then how can you honestly say that this doesn't bother you somewhat? I also find it funny how everyone always says "You can't predict injury", but when it would benefit them, then it becomes "Chris Brown will be hurt by week 3". I try to be a realist, and I feel Slaton should still have a pretty good year, but how can you really expect a HUGE year from a guy who isn't scheduled to get most of the GL work?

    Steve Slaton

Just to bring the topic back to a serious note for a moment...Isn't anyone concerned with Chris Brown vulturing all the short TD's?? I know, I know...Everybody say that Brown will be hurt by week 2. But as everyone always says, "you can't predict injuries"...so what if Brown DOESN'T get hurt for a change. Can you still truly love Slaton's upside if you can't expect too many TD's?? What type of projections would everyone have for Slaton if Brown doesn't get hurt??

    MBIII on 3rd down?

Looking for some insight from any Cowboys homers or fans out there. This kid Felix Jones looks pretty impressive so far, and I think the Cowboys want to find a way to get him on the field. I know Barber is a BEAST (I had him last year), and I expect him to have another good year. I know Barber will get the goal line carries, but I just can't figure out if Felix will be in on 3rd down, and how many carries he will steal from MBIII. I think this will be the deciding factor over whether Barber just has another good year, or steps it up to the elite level with LT, AP & Westy...what do you guys think??

    Brady or Favre?

I know, I know...it's just that sometimes the weather just brings the skill levels of 2 teams a lot closer together...I'm a Steelers fan also, and watching that Dolphins 3-0 "thriller" just showed how the weather can bring a good team down to the level of an opponent. I realize Pittsburgh isn't N.E., and Ben isn't Brady, but it just makes me think of how much of an "equalizer" the weather can be, and I hate the thought of being ousted because the weather made Brady "mortal"
  12. FAN OF STEEL

    D. Anderson or D. Brees?

Brees...N.O. offense (especially Brees) is looking better...weather is supposed to be pretty bad in Cleveland which could lead to a low scoring affair...IMO Brees has less risk and equal upside this week. please answer mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=306204

    Brady or Favre?

They are calling for HIGH winds, and driving rain/snow mix...it's crazy to consider sitting a QB under those conditions (even Brady)??

Need to pick 2 of 4 RBs this week

Rudi (although, i'm not a believer)...but they should be up big, which leads to running the ball, and Lynch, since the weather is supposed to be bad, which leads to running the ball

RB dilemma for playoffs 2nd round!

Definitely Portis...he's been pretty reliable...he gets almost EVERY carry on that team...and the weather is supposed to be TERRIBLE at the Meadowlands Sunday, which means a lot of work for the running backs!! Please see mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=306204
