Ya if my wife worked day shift it would be a lot easier. But since she works at night and gets off at 7am its easier for her to just run by the Starbucks near the hospital and pick one up. Though I really do want a nice espresso machine for myself

On a related note, I got my wife 2x 5 qt Calphalon sauce pans. She loves to cook, hers are shot, and Bier recommended them.

 

Also got her two long sleeve exercise shirts, primarily for hiking in the winter but perhaps the gym (she goes at 6AM during the week).

I always had a fake tree growing up; my wife loved real trees, in fact her birthday is in early December and she would ask her parents for a real tree for her birthday.

 

Our first Christmas together we negotiated and of course... got a real tree. Wife bought a tree stand. We went and picked one from the lot, got it home I have no idea how (I had a Mustang, she had a Probe). Got it finally inside and... the $#@! thing is too big for the stand. I didn't have any saws (not long out of college, hadn't amassed many tools) and it was late at night so I used her bread knife to eventually get that gawd dang thing into the stand. She learned a few new swear words that night.

 

The following year we moved to fake and haven't looked back.
