Questions - Steelers

Recommended Posts

Why did the Steelers not challenge that spot on what would have been Connor's third TD? Sure looked close. Kicked a FG, lost 4 points.

How was that winning TD to AB not a pass interference on the Steelers? The WR (Houston) clearly blocked out the Cincy defender and the ball seemed to be thrown more than 5 yards beyond the LOS.

Thoughts?

Go Steelers!

Tomlin is a Moron he instead challenged a spot he would never win earlier in the game. Then his big ego thinks punching in from 1 would be a gimmie

The pick play is what Brady and the boys live off of. You do it within 1 yard and they wont call it.

Looked like PI to me. He was blocking the DB while the ball was in the air. Pretty sure that's a no-no.

The NFL agreed with the no-call on the pick. I personally don't. It's one thing if you're running a route, it's another to run to spot to block a guy (even if you don't initiate the contact) then proceed to hold him up the length of the play.

Oh, and Tomlin is horrible at challenges, time management and general common sense in a game.

Sirius NFL radio has discussed a few times this season how self-serving the NFL's head of officiating has been this year. While in the past they've admitted to mistakes, this year has been all about justifying every call, no matter how bad. "It's easy to pass when you're self grading".

They have been that way for a few years now, the who ordeal with the catch rule shows that

As a Steelers fan, I love the non-call. This was, to me, a must win given the records of the two teams going in. That said, everyone should repeatedly run that play if it's not going to be called. Easy money.

I try to remain impartial, don't always succeed. That was a big game, but it was bigger for the Steelers just because losing it would have made it VERY difficult to win the division and wildcards are always hard with a stupid-ass tie. They have to find a way to get the Baltimore monkey off their back or it won't matter. I'm seeing a lot of positives, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Haden is back to looking like a top corner again. If they can get some semblance of decent play out of the other CB they will be ok...but it might be time to cut bait with Artie Burns. They spent all last preseason and all this one again talking about how he was matched up against Antonio Brown and holding his own. That's all well and good, but he apparently can't cover anybody BESIDES AB. He's another bad game or two away from losing the S and getting a T instead.

All I can say the better team won that game. Pitt out played Bengals except for 1 thing...Special Teams. This was the only reason Bengals were in this game. Had a short field through out. And if this one thing Steeler fans should be looking at besides the Bell crap, it's getting P. Peterson if Cardinals have a fire sale. Word is out they might. If Pittsburgh could pull this off, we would be on there way to another SB.
