Nice. New coach, new GM (I've hated both before this year) and the first pick! That's how you build.

They have had one win since their party in Florida before the Packer payoff game last year.

Great coaching

I mean good for the Gmen to really be as bad as possible right now. If they are in position to take a QB they like, they should pull the trigger.

Better spot than the Bills grinding for 8 wins yet again and picking in the middle of round 1. Although 8-8 will make the playoffs in the JV Conf.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

having a top pick doesn't necessarily mean much for some franchises

No Zeke for 5 weeks, no S. Lee for at least 4 weeks, no Tyron Smith for Gawd knows, no Dan Bailey...

I just assume Dallas lose the rest of the way out..... No need trying to scratch out 8 wins, can only hurt.

You are right. But just think about it, the Bills haven't made the playoffs since 1999. Some of the 1st round QBs they have taken are EJ Manuel and JP Losman. Both were mid 1st reaches. 17 years no playoffs yet they hardly pick in the top 5. This year they trade back and get the Chiefs 1st next year looking like they want ammo to move up. And watch the Chiefs end up with the 30th and the Bills grind to the 21st. Unable to move up with that. Trotting Tyrod out there again for 8 wins.

At some point you have to draft a top prospect. Rams and Philly are glad they did. Of course you can miss. But who cares when the alternative is Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tyrod Taylor, EJ Manual, Trent Edwards.

I apologize for ignoring you.

you new yorkers sure do love your history.

what does the 2004 draft have to do with the 2018 draft? Same owner?

I don't get how past draft history has anything to do with today

The truly interesting thing about that list is how good many of them played either right out of the box, or by their 2nd year.

Then they just faded away. A vast majority didn't look like busts. Yet they are.

Again, damned if you do, damned if you don't

As an NFL head coach you have what? 2 years, 3 if you're lucky, sometimes even 1. if the team doesn't play well.

they are FORCED to play QBs before they are ready. no NFL owner will sit by and watch "the star" QB sitting while the team blows.

The whole NFL is so focked up.

Well, you made a historical reference when you said a top pick doesn't mean much to some franchises. You were using history as a reference. I was pointing out the giants historical record in these instances.

This is not surprising. The Giants D is actively tanking the season. I am not even a giants fan and I want to punch Janoris Jenkins in his face.
