Lacy looks terrible, Rawls can't stay healthy, Prosise should get the passing downs which makes it easier for a rookie to get some snaps.

 

He's not exactly the rookie people expected to make early noise, but opportunity is everything. I added him yesterday in my deep dynasty league.

 

Any OK St. fans watch him play much. From scouting reports his college tape seems to be ok, but nothing crazy.

The issue with messy situations like this is that whoever shakes out on top of that depth chart should have some solid value. The problem is your guess is as good as mine. A RB on a solid offense with a solid defense, you figure they're playing from ahead mostly. Bad o-line or not, their top back is gonna score points.

That is not true. Even at the end of last year when they were down to one back it still wasn't fantasy productive. Rawls had the backfield to himself the last 7 weeks of last season and gave you 1 RB1, 2 low RB2, and 4 sub 4pt performances.

 

As long as CJP is healthy you have a split backfield where the other guy is a 2 down back playing behind a bottom 5 OL and likely a 3rd RB getting some carries. You also always have the hot hand issue where you start what you think is their lead back and let's say its Carson and then Lacy or Rawls gets going on a series. The only value this backfield could have is if CJP takes over and gets 60% of the work.

I think that if he's not the starter or getting at least 40% of the carries in a time share, Seattle may just cut him or trade him.

 

Lacy signed for 4.25 million on a one year deal. he is guaranteed 2.86 million.

 

If they cut him now, it will cost them 3 mil (roughly)

 

I'm pretty sure he will get a full shot at this given the large sum of guaranteed money.

there isnt much of a reason to cut him because you are not really saving that much money. (Like you said, a large part of the bonus cash has been paid)

I get what you're saying, but I could still see this as a situation where Sea may just rather bite the bullet and get rid of him vs. keeping him around just to save an extra $1.3 million. Of course trading him would be ideal, but I don't know that there's any market for him right now, even for just a late rd pick.

 

He's never been a guy that likes football, and even though he may not be specifically a "bad guy," I could see a guy like Carroll (who values players that are passionate about the game) not wanting a presence like that around his young guys. Considering they may only keep 3 RBs on the roster and the fact that Lacy doesn't play special teams, he doesn't offer much if he's not significantly better than the other guys if you ask me.

Rawls was splitting carries with Collins to end the season so not sure what you mean by backfield to himself. If you combine their stats in those games where they split carries they aren't too bad. The one really lousy game was vs Rams where Rawls got 21 carries for 34 yards. 34 yards is bad but 21 carries? Awesome.

 

The point I'm trying to make isn't directly correlated to Seahawks or how they played last year. A RB getting volume on a good team that's scoring points will have value. For example Ty Montgomery last year. Bad o-line but good offense. Wilson played hurt last year and I think that sapped the offense a bit. His threat of running and that added dimension was taken away. All indications are he's fine and Russell is being drafted as a top 6 QB almost everywhere I see. I think their offense will be better than it was last year and if they're playing from ahead, someone is going to get carries.

It's not rolling the dice every week. It's rolling dice during the draft. Week to week you're probably going to know prior to each game who will get the touches.

Dynasty players better grab Carson. Collins and Davis aren't that good. (It pains me to say that also, as I liked both in college).

Lacey and Rawls are essentially both on a 1 year deal, and could both be gone next year. I'd gotta believe only one would even be considered to be back for next year. And that's only if they impress this year.

I picked this guy up in my dynasty league and am happy I had the roster space to do so. He may not make that much of an impact this year but like others stated lacy and Rawls are on 1 yr deals prosise is more a receiving back. I think he's a good dynasty stash but not on the redraft radar due to all the rbs they have this year.

Yes. I wouldn't necessarily say he has great hands. But better than Lacey or Rawls.
