Why is the Branch bet a :D ?

He is, without a doubt, Brady's favorite receiver. If you do not believe me you can ask the "Brady man-love" himself, BigTuna.

R. Williams kicked ass last year because of talent, yes but also because, at that time, he was all J. Harrington had. Now look at the weapons....

C. Rogers (if he stays healthy)

M. Willaims

R. Willaims

M. Pollard

K. Jones (2nd year)

And let's not use the Indy Colts analogy because Joey is no Peyton. And the Lions "O" is no Colt's "O".

Not to mention I see the Lions improving this year (closer games mean more running). And the Lion's WRs won't get that garbage time crap anymore.

I feel vice/versa about the Pats. I think they come back down to the rest of the league a notch or two this year, which means they won't be pounding it out in the 2nd half all year long....they may actually have to throw the ball in the 2nd half.

I visualize this:

R. Williams - 910 & 7

D. Branch - 1195 & 7

This I do not understand either.......

Your only hope of winning this bet is that Foster gets hurt (which is a good bet :) ).

Foster is the clear cut starter in Carolina. Davis won't even be ready to play until early in the season. Shelton may spell him but nothing dramatic because he is a rookie.

R. Brown may have R. Williams to contend with but the biggest thing is that he plays for the woeful Dolphins (even if Ricky doesn't come back). I will admit that Brown is your best chance though.

C. Benson will be splitting time with T. Jones and let's not forget it is "da Bears".

C. Williams will be splitting time with Pittman/Alstott and let's not forget that the Bucs are not a great running team.

Here is a link for you..............look up 2004, 2003 , etc.

Yeah, I guess saying he's a 30-40 rated WR would indicated he has a lot of faith in Branch as an FF WR.

I'd bet another case of beer that even tuna has Roy Williams ranked higher this season. :(

Foster is the clear cut starter in Carolina.

In case you haven't been paying attention to the news, RBBC with Shelton and Deshaun getting all of his TD's vultured is likely. And that's assuming he doesn't get hurt, which as you note is a massive if.

Sure much of the news right now claims RBBC for these top RB's, just like it did last season with Kevin Jones and Julius Jones. But it's all just standard offseason talk - these guys have a ton of money invested in them, they are also the most talented RB's on their respective teams, and every single one of them is more talented than Deshaun Foster himself. It's almost certain that one of the three will take Foster even if he's healthy, in fact it's more likely than not that more than one of them will.

S. Davis coming back is going to kill me there.........

I really didn't think he would be able to come back from that micro-fraction surgery at his age.

Oh well...........I can still win two........

Nah, it's the fact that all three rookies are better than Deshaun Foster that's going to kill you. :D

If Foster was getting Davis' carries, he'd be focking hurt. You were doomed from the start, and Roy is going to secure that 2nd case for me before all is said and done.

For now, you gotta worry about Foster coming back.

The guy can't stay healthy as a backup, I still don't understand why you assume he would have made it through more than a game or two as a starter...

Week 9 update:

McGahee - 109 - Miller

Lewis - 53 - Battle

Caddy - 59 - Dr.J

R. Brown - 83 - Dr. J

Foster - 39 - Battle (S. Davis - 106)

Benson - 14 - Dr. J

Branch - 72 - Battle

R. Williams - 23 - Dr. J

It looks like I was way wrong on Jam (my gut failed me). I thought the fact that this was his contract year and that he also had somethiong to prove after his jail time would be incentive enough for him to put together a great year....oh well. So, unless there is a miracle...........I will be sending a case of brew-ha-ha to my man Miller.

As far as my bets with DrJ.............I knew Branch would out-point Williams. And if it weren't for old ass S. Davis coming back from micro-fracture surgery (which I didn't think he would).......Foster would have easily kicked all the rookies asses. So, unless a miracle happens here as well..............we split.

Foster couldn't stay healthy when he was backing up Davis, there's no way he would have stayed healthy if he were the #1. If it weren't for Benson going down for probably the season today, all 3 of them may have taken Foster.

And it looks like Roy just made things a little interesting.

Branch - 80

Roy - 52

Looks liek Battle went 1-2, lost the Jamal/Willis bet with me, and split with Dr.J. Looks like I will be the only one receiving some nice free beer!
