Okay, here is your winner in the disposable razor deptartment.

Recommended Posts

I've tried many brands...and geez...its not even close.

I wanted Harry's to be my favorite. The handle is cool and grippy, and its the best looking and feel in your hand razor there is.

The one that I like far the best, is the one I've used for about 4-5 years. I keep trying others ...but they all keep losing. So...here are my rankings....

1.) Schick Hydro 5

2.) Schick Hydro 3

____________________

3a. Harrys

3b. Gillette Mach Series

3c. Barbasol

6. Dorco

NOW...I have NOT tried Gilette Fusion.

Here is why Schick kicks the crap out of the rest:

The lubrication strip. That's gotta be it. They do something different that the other companies.

The rest have nice sharp blade, etc....but they drag soooo fawking much compared to Schick. My wife uses the same ones...and won't try anything else. She says same thing.

Now, here's the ghey part...I shave more than just my face. And no, I don't shave my focking legs. Maybe just face and neck shaving, the drag from the others isn't as noticeable.

So get your ghey jokes out of the way, and buy Schick Hydro's next time.

Anyone use Gillette Fusion?

Gillette Fusion 5 blade. Most of the time I first use a Braun Pulsonic cordless which is pretty good and then I finish up to get a real close shave with the manual Fusion. I just bought 12 new blades for $23.61 on amazon.

Ha, I'm actually using a Gillette Fusion ProGlide Silvertouch. Comparable price to women's razors but works better and lasts longer. I don't need a feminine aesthetic in a razor, but I like the silver anyway.

Dorco 6 for me. I'm not a gorilla like some of you guys in here, so I don't need the crazy expensive razor.

Can't beat the price. BTW, anyone in here that uses the Dollar Shave Club should know that they get their blades from dorco.

Do you trust the chi-com won't slit your throat?

This hasn't been a problem in sixteen years.

I used harry's all last year. I liked them fine.

I used the gillette mach 3 for years. Fock them. Too overpriced. My wife likes them to shave her junk though, so I keep a couple around.

Ever tried a straight razor? I tried that once. It was a bloodbath.

Does that include your back and chest/stomach ?

Also, I'll try Fusion and let u know how it compares to Schick Hydro.

It'd better be friggen good to beat out the incumbent in my house.

I used to use the Mach 57 but tried out one of those pink curvy chick razors and it worked perfectly fine.

Shaved my entire body from neck to thigh and did not get a single ingrown hair. Razor burn for about 24 hours in the upper pube area but that was it.

I make Sasquatch look hairless, fusion or nothing for me. Best razor out there even though they are ridiculously priced.

For like a decade I've used whatever 3-blade disposable they sell at Costco. Gilette something... Mach 3? Sensor? Comes in a 28 or 56 pack or sumthin. Then my wife bought some Gilette 5-blade razors on our recent Michigan vacation... hmm, I like this, 5 > 3. I asked her to buy more and she said fock you they are too expensive, buy a regular razor. So I got a Fusion 5. The shave is fantastic but I don't love the feel in my hand; I was about to tell my wife I make Geek Club money and buy me those disposables dambit, but apparently Costco carries the blades and she just bought a bulk load. No idea what they cost but if you do Costco you might look into it.

Im fine with the Gillette Sensor Excel. The fusion is too big to even up sideburns or get under the nostrils.

I agree that the 5 bladers are tougher to get under the nostrils than my old 3 blade disposables. But it can be done, just takes more focus, and the rest of the shave is worth it.

I got a Fusion as a stocking stuffer around Christmas. The shave is fine but its not any better than the Excel IMO so I went back.

It would seem redundant going to the barber every morning for a shave.

Gillette Good News: Cheap plastic twin blade, no comfort strip

Keep em clean and dry and one of them will last months.

Ive used everything from triple blades to badger bristle brushes and Caswell-Masseys shaving soap. (The same stuff George Washington used).

In the end, one of these cheapos with ivory soap in the shower works best.

I have hungarian, italian, and russian heritage. Fusion 5 proglide whatever, whatever (blue and orange). for under the nostril, they have a single blade on top of the cartridge that works well.

So does the Dorco Pace 6 Plus.

i was pointing that out for a couple of people who have gilette fusion, but may not have the cartridge that has a blade on top.

After watching this video, I feel like trying a safety blade. Any of you use single safety blade?

Check out what this guy says....

It's only when you look into 'why' Gillette started doing multi-blade razors that you realise they might well qualify as the biggest scam of the 20th century. It was because their patent was running out, and they feared competition from abroad as the safety razor design is so simple, pretty much anyone can replicate it abroad for cheaper costs. The multi-blade razors, whilst offering no real benefit, were more complex to make, and by adding small changes, Gillette could renew their patents as often as they needed to. Then you get into the markup on those cartridges. They don't cost much more to make than a regular razor blade, and the markup on them has been estimated at over 4000%. I can get a pack of ten multi cartridges for £10 to £20 in the UK. Meanwhile I can buy 100 safety razor blades for £10. The cartridges are also non-recyclable, whereas the simple razor blades corrode and bio-degrade. When you then realise that with a little bit of practice, a safety razor offers a comparable shave to any multi-blade, it starts to sell itself. £25 for a razor and enough blades to last years.
