Obama seems shaky and unsure in this press conference

Recommended Posts

I'm not impressed. Take away his teleprompter and he sounds like cmh9898 trying to explain why the Royals will win the AL Central this season.

Looks like we're going to have to wait a little longer for 24 to come on.

I'm not even watching him, as I'm pissed that they're not showing a new "House" right now.

If they don't show 24, I"m going to whack Obama myself.

I was really hoping someone would ask Obama about the Congressional Budget Office's findings that the stimulus would cause more long term harm than good.

But nope, we had to find out what Obama thinks about A-Roid.

Thank you guys!

We thank him for not running into 24.

Thanks to you Mr President!

He knew 24 was coming on, that's why he left so quick. :dunno:

I must have missed that part. Who asked that assinine quesiton?

I'm suprised somebody didn't ask to change the BCS, and further put off digital TV as well. Pressing issues.

You expected a tough question? He didn't get a single tough question during the campaign, and you expected one from

1. NBC

2.Helen Thomas

3. Huffington Post

4 NPR

That thing was a joke.

I didn't say I was expecting one. I said I was hoping it would come up.

Just like I hope I find a 250 million dollar lottery ticket on the ground tomorrow.

Maybe because i heard it on the radio and didn't see it i got a different impression. I thought he killed it. I'm still waiting to see more fact checking because the previous link doesn't have much substance in it, but i'm sure there'll be more to come. I'm glad he called out republicans for doubling the national debt yet are acting like fiscal conservatives now(i started a thread on this in which no one responded). I'm glad he called out democrats who think more money will fix all the problems schools have. I liked his view on pakistan. Major props on how he handled the nuclear question as well.

I don't mind his pauses, ums, and stutters. He's being asked a variety of questions. He likes to think about his answers. Nothing wrong with that in my book.

I have a lot of questions about his words on the stimulus package though. Sadly, i'll admit, a lot of the stimulus package info i get is from links on this site as well as what people are saying. Is it true Mccains people support a stimulus? Do a majority of economists favor a stimulus package? I know pushing for a stimulus package doesn't mean you support this particular bill.

Also, unlike the fact checking article, i do think these are some hard times. They relied solely on unemployment rates which is just lazy. Unemployment rates don't tell the whole story.

A big thing i would love to see him do is hold pelosi and reid accountable for their unseen degree of partisanship. She does not know how to work with republicans and is unfit to lead. If obama is serious about bipartisanship, pelosi can't have power. She's way too far left. Its amazing to watch them on tv and see how easy it is for them to blame everything on the republicans.

Gotta love how he claimed there was no "earmarks" in this bill. Wel no spit Sherlock, those come at the end in the dead of night when nobody is watching.

The Demwits are so brazen they have stuffed all the earmarks into it up front. Fock the public, they don't care people know this is a turd cuz they won an election.

He is doing this to avoid telling America of his socialist policies and trying to come up with an answer that doesn't sound as bad...

Did he just ask for a question from the Huffington Post??????

Did all the real news agencies go outta bidness?

I agree - for crying out loud, Fox even got a question.

Name, specifically, what you consider an earmark. Then we can address how each one you name will, or will not, create jobs. The bill passed this morning - did you see anything added "in the dead of night" last night?

Wow, an A-Rod question.

Yeah, WTF was THAT?

Should revoke the guy's press credentials for that one. The economy's in da crappa, yet his ONE question is about Maddoner's BF?

yeah, my brother and i kind of watched. we felt bad for him. he must've said 'umm' a million times. he really needs to learn not to sound so unsure even if he is.

my brother and i discussed how maybe he really did need a few more years under his belt before running for potus. (maybe the right was right-god forbid)

i'm sure the thought of the stimulus package possibly tanking the country would make anyone nervous.

Name, specifically, what you consider an earmark.

Let's start with The Moonbat's $400 million for STD's. Name, specifically, how many jobs that will create.

It's somewhere between that $400 million and the other 90%+ that doesn't go to infrastructure.

http://wsbradio.com/blogs/jamie_dupree/200...mulus-pork.html

Pork is obviously in the eye of the beholder. But here is what Republican Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma believes is spending that shouldn't be in the economic stimulus bill to be approved on Tuesday by the Senate.

$2 billion earmark for FutureGen near zero emissions powerplant in Mattoon, IL

$39 billion slush fund for "state fiscal stabilization" bailout

$5.5 billion for making federal buildings "green" (including $448 million for DHS HQ)

$200 million for workplace safety in USDA facilities

$275 million for flood prevention

$65 million for watershed rehabilitation

$200 million for public computer centers at community colleges and libraries

$650 million for the DTV transition coupon program

$307 million for constructing NIST office buildings

$1 billion for administrative costs and construction of NOAA office buildings

$100 million for constructing U.S. Marshalls office buildings

$300 million for constructing FBI office buildings

$800 million for constructing Federal Prison System buildings and facilities

$10 million to fight Mexican gunrunners

$1.3 billion for NASA (including $450 million for "science" at NASA)

$100 million to clean up sites used in early U.S. atomic energy program

$10 million for urban canals

$2 billion for manufacturing advanced batteries for hybrid cars

$1.5 billion for carbon capture projects under sec. 703 of P.L. 110-140 (though section only authorizes $1 billion for five years)

$300 million for hybrid and electric cars for federal employees

$198 million to design and furnish the DHS headquarters

$255 million for "priority procurements" at Coast Guard (polar ice breaker)

$500 million for State and local fire stations

$180 million for construction of Bureau of Land Management facilities

$500 million for wildland fire management

$110 million for construction for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

$522 million for construction for the Bureau of Indian Affairs

$650 million for abandoned mine sites

$75 million for the Smithsonian Institution

$1.2 billion for summer jobs for youth

$412 million for CDC headquarters

$500 million earmark for NIH facilities in Bethesda, MD

$160 million for "volunteers" at the Corp. for National and Community Service

$750 earmark for the National Computer Center in MD

$224 million for International Boundary and Water Commission - U.S. and Mexico

$850 million for Amtrak

$100 million for lead paint hazard reduction

Not all of these might be "pork" in the eyes of Congressional watchdogs - but it is another slice of what the Senate is going to approve today.
