oh good lord. African-American is racist now too

Because it upsets the afro Latinos in the afro carabiners.

That's right, focus on that And that way you don't have to worry about the statistics Showing rampant crime And sociological breakdown within your communities. Good strategy.

We need a color chart like they use for Homeland Security with differing shades and a corresponding non offensive term. Keep it on your person at all times and kinda hold it up to those you meet.

I don't care which word you want to use, just find one you like and we'll all be happy to use it. All I ask is to stick with it, this coming back every forty years and saying the new non-racist term is now racist doesn't work.

People use that term still? I just refer to them as black. A dude can also be called a brotha. Why would anyone want to take the time to say African American? I am offended everyone hasn't shortened it to just "black".

Just like we aren't literally white, most of us at least, black people aren't literally black, most of them at least. If anyone is worried about offending someone when they haven't used a word or phrase universally thought of as derogatory, or haven't used a phrase/word meaning it in a derogatory fashion, then who cares if someone is offended? Don't know why people waste so much time on this stuff

Archie Bunker for President!......no wait, we've already got one of those

Seriously though, the left has brought this crap upon us all with their victimization mentality. Life was much better when you could call a spade a spade. Everybody needs to just stop be pussies as well as letting the left control words.

I was always hesitant to call someone Black. I have no idea if that is offensive or not... I mean nobody ever calls me Brown. :dunno:

I still think there is some deep seeded racism in this country. Maybe if it didn't exist we wouldn't be where we are at now? I do agree that the sensitivity is just unreal.

I don't recall any black dudes I know taking it offensively. If they can call me white boy I can call them black. I mean if we are describing someone physically we need some kind of attributes to use. We don't call Mexicans Brown because there are a lot of different nationalities that are brown. We just call someone by their nationality because it's easier to separate. Black guys are Americans, so we have to use something universally understood when describing someone.

Interesting if it's accurate. I am a liberal who is disgusted by the sensitivity. I still wouldn't use that as my entire basis for switching affiliation, but in all honesty if we did let the sensitive ass hats have their way, there would be some serious ramifications down the line. Hopefully we stamp it out before it gets to that point.

Interesting. I also think a lot of it is a visceral reaction to the left that is repulsive. Look at the so called men of the left. Does any red blooded man really want to be associated with those limp wristed douches? Look at most of the leftists around here, Shonuff, MDC, ect. Total puzzies. There is an instinctive rejection of the left when you get a load of guys like that.

When stories like this come up, I'm reminded of an episode of Quantum Leap where he gets transported back to 1950's Mississippi:

"You're Black!"

(woman obviously offended)

"I prefer to be called "Negro"

- Says everything you need to know.

In South Africa, unless you're a 'pure' black - you're "colored" - and that is at the behest of the 'pure' blacks there.
