Jerry Rice says no to Eli

Recommended Posts

So does Peyton Manning.

Yep. Every player in the league that has 2 rings should be in the HOF. Per Giants fan logic. So you must be outraged that Brandan Jacobs isn't in the HOF yet.

Only Seafoam Logic could draw such a ludicrous conclusion...

So does Peyton Manning.

Peyton Manning was a very good QB. That being said, he had a weenie arm when he was on Denver. That is a perfect example of a defense carrying a team to a championship. Manning was not a key to that team winning that year.

Manning finished the game 13of23 for 141 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. 😂

Jerry Rice is getting more vocal and a little LoCo with old age.

Eli Manning last two games, which were Giants wins: 36-49 73% completion, 5 TD, 0 INT. Not bad for a guy at the end of his career. Just shows what a little pass protection can do. No doubt HOFer,,,

Eli made the playoffs in 2005,2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2016. Won ten games in 2010 and didn't get in. He had one of the better 7 year runs in NFL History.

Sorry. meant no other play-off wins. Those teams were defense driven. Eli wasn't putting up numbers.

Manning is what, 113-110 in his career? 350 to 234 TD to INT ratio? Hahahaaa.

The 2011 Giants had the 25th ranked defense. And before you say running game, they had the worst. Eli threw for 4900 yards, and set the record for most 4th qtr touchdowns. Your perception doesn't match reality.

Do I think he's a HOF level qb? No. Absolutley not. Not even top 10 in his era. Will he get in? Yes, thanks to his defensive lines for winning him 2 super bowls.

As if every QB out there doesnt owe their defense/rest of team some credit for SB wins? Brady's first 3 SB titles were 75% defense and 24% Adam Vinatieri. No one is questioning that though. Peyton finally won a few SBs when he had a defense behind him. Marino is a monster QB but never had said defense aka no rings. As usual, people place WAY too much emphasis on just the QB and Im glad that you get it.... but almost every SB title can be attributed to solid defensive play both in the SB game itself AND to help get the team there in the first place. This isnt news or exclusive to Eli Manning. Football is a team sport.

As for HOF creds? Maybe. I think there a are quite a few guys in the HOF for th wrong reasons and/or they dont really belong there. Lets see how his career finishes out.

On SB rings alone yes. But if you look at those seasons and what got them there, plus his overall career, I objectively say no.

Either way, he'll get in on his name and rings.

In this case his defense went from mediocre to top 5 in the playoffs. His defense truly carried him and he got a bit lucky on a couple of throws. That's being really objective about it.

Eli is a good QB. But I don't view him as great.

His defense didn't carry him in the NFC Championship game in Below Zero temps in Green Bay, Eli put his team on his back and carried them to the Super Bowl. He wn the MVP in both superbowls which doesn't mean he carried the team but it does mean he had a lot to do with it. Revisionist history non withstanding I don't believe most in the anti- Eli camp actually know what happened in those magical playoff runs, probably weren't even paying close attention

See this is where you are reaching. In your mind, if someone doesn't think Manning should be in the HOF, it causes you distress and you start saying that they are anti-ELI. How does is it even relevant if someone likes him or not? There have been quite a few mediocre QBs that were on teams that won superbowls.

Not sure what you are even talking about but analyzing my mind is probably not a good idea for someone who pretends to be someone else on an anonymous chat board, and then gets called out on it and pretends or lies about it. Not to mention deleting posts like gambling picks after you realize you lost. Talk about reaching
